The Daegu Metropolitan City Disabled Sports Association announced that the '2025 Yeonghonam Moonlight Alliance Disabled Sports Exchange Event' successfully concluded over two days from 22nd to 23rd at the Daegu Disabled National Sports Center and other locations in Daegu. A total of 57 disabled sports officials and athletes, including 32 from Daegu and 25 from Gwangju, participated in the vibrant exchange.

The 'Yeonghonam Moonlight Alliance Disabled Sports Exchange Event' is a traditional event that has been alternating annually between Daegu and Gwangju, fostering communication and harmony between the regions. Notably, this year, beyond the existing exchanges among staff, there were also exchange matches between Gwangju's disabled table tennis team and the Daegu athletes, making it even more meaningful.

On the first day, starting with the opening ceremony in the afternoon of the 22nd, participating athletes held table tennis matches in a realistic setting at the Daegu Disabled National Sports Center, fostering technical exchange and camaraderie. At the same time, staff visited the Daegu International Shooting Range to tour the sports facilities and participated in a shooting experience program to gain insights into the sports field. In the evening, a welcome dinner followed, providing time for participants to build friendships.

On the second day, the 23rd, a staff meeting was held to discuss future exchange directions and policy cooperation measures between the two cities. Following this, a visit to the Daegu Kansong Art Museum allowed for sharing local cultural content and expanding cultural empathy.

Hong Jun-hak, Secretary-General of the Disabled Sports Association, noted, "The participation of the table tennis team, along with facility experience and cultural exchange, made this event a meaningful journey beyond simple visits," and added, "We will further expand the scope of disabled sports exchange between Yeonghonam in the future."
