Professional baseball LG Twins manager Youm Kyoung-youb achieved his 600th win in the KBO League, making him the 12th in its history.

LG won 3-2 against the SSG Landers in the '2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League' game held on the 23rd at Incheon SSG Landers Field.

Starting pitcher Son Ju-yeong delivered a stellar performance with 7 innings, allowing 2 hits, 2 walks, striking out 11, and conceding 1 run, earning his 5th win of the season. The 11 strikeouts set a career high for strikeouts in a single game. The previous record was 9, achieved on Sept. 21, 2024, against Doosan at Jamsil. The bullpen, comprising Kim Jin-sung (1 inning, no runs) and Park Myeong-geun (1 inning, 1 run), secured the team's victory. Park Myeong-geun recorded his 3rd save of the season. Austin launched his 14th home run of the season, while Park Hae-min contributed with 1 hit, 1 run, 1 walk, and 2 stolen bases in 3 at-bats.

After giving up the first run to SSG in the bottom of the 1st inning, LG saw leadoff hitter Park Hae-min hit a single in the top of the 3rd, followed by Lee Young-bin drawing a walk. Subsequently, they executed a successful double steal, creating a no outs, 2nd and 3rd base opportunity. Moon Sung-ju grounded out to drive in a run, and Kim Hyun-soo hit a sacrifice fly to turn the game around.

In the 8th inning with 1 out, Austin hit a solo home run to extend the lead by one more run. In the bottom of the 9th, Park Seong-han hit a single, Shin Beom-soo followed with a single, and Jeong Jun-jae hit an RBI single, allowing one run to score, but Park Myeong-geun ensured no further runs crossed the plate to secure the victory. Manager Youm Kyoung-youb recorded his 600th career win with this victory.

After the game, the LG players and Director General Cha Myeong-seok celebrated Manager Youm Kyoung-youb's 600th win in the away locker room. Director General Cha presented a bouquet, and captain Park Hae-min delivered a cake.

In a post-game interview, Manager Youm Kyoung-youb noted, “(Son) Ju-yeong increased his use of curves and gave a perfect pitching performance as a starting pitcher. The game was tight overall, but thanks to (Kim) Jin-sung and (Park) Myeong-geun fulfilling their roles excellently as the winning pitchers, we were able to secure the win.”

Manager Youm Kyoung-youb remarked, “(Park) Hae-min created good opportunities for us at the plate,” and added, “With (Moon) Sung-ju's game-tying RBI and (Kim) Hyun-soo's go-ahead RBI, we could bring the game's momentum to our side. Austin's home run allowed Myeong-geun to pitch in a more relaxed situation at the end. This was a decisive factor in our victory,” encouraging the standout players.

Heavy rain began falling at SSG Landers Field from the middle of the game. However, many traveling fans stayed until the end, cheering for LG. Manager Youm Kyoung-youb expressed his gratitude, saying, “It was an away game, and despite the bad weather, we were able to achieve a good outcome thanks to the fans who supported us until the end. I sincerely thank you.”
