Superstar Kim Do-young broke the 3-3 tie with a solo home run, redeeming himself from a throwing error in the bottom of the first inning.
Kim Do-young was selected as a starting third baseman for the 6th game of the season against the KT Wiz at Suwon KT Wiz Park on the 22nd, where he hit a home run in his second at-bat.
Kim Do-young made his appearance as the leadoff batter in the top of the third inning with a score tied at 3-3, hitting a solo home run off KT starter William Cuévas. He took a high fastball (142 km/h) from Cuévas to hit a 139.9-meter home run to left center field. This was his 4th home run of the season, coming after a six-game drought since the game against the Gwangju Lotte Giants on the 15th.
Earlier, in the bottom of the first inning with one out and the bases loaded, Kim Do-young provided a chance for the tie by fielding a ground ball hit by Kim Sang-soo and making a bad throw to first base. This home run allowed him to wash away the mental strain.
KIA took a 4-3 lead over KT due to Kim Do-young's home run.
