The Korea Sports Council will pilot the AI broadcasting system of KT Skylife for major events at the 54th National Youth Sports Festival (May 24-27, Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, hereinafter referred to as 'youth sports festival') to conduct broadcasts.
This AI broadcasting will be promoted through cooperation between KT Skylife and the AI sports platform corporations Hogak, and will be implemented as a follow-up measure to the tripartite memorandum of understanding signed last April. The Korea Sports Council is developing various cooperation projects aimed at expanding the base of sports for all and school sports using AI broadcasting technology, and following the first implementation of AI broadcasting at the National Sports Festival for All in April, the 54th youth sports festival will be the second case.
AI broadcasting will be applied to the ▲football men's under-15 semifinals, finals, ▲volleyball mixed under-15 semifinals, finals, and championship matches, ▲handball under-15 semifinals, finals, and championship matches, and the broadcasts will be available for viewing through the Korea Sports Council TV channel on the Naver internet broadcasting platform 'Chijijik.' It is expected that this will allow the public to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the youth sports festival more closely.
The Korea Sports Council expects that this AI broadcasting will strengthen the promotional foundation of the youth sports festival and contribute to improving accessibility in the fields of sports for all and school sports, as well as expanding digital content.
Chairman Yoo Seong-min noted, 'I am pleased to create an opportunity for more citizens to easily access sports by introducing AI broadcasting in the fields of sports for all and school sports,' and added, 'We will continue to make various attempts to spread sports content in the future.'
