'Son of the Wind' Lee Jung-hoo (San Francisco Giants) showcased a strong performance in scoring position, successfully hitting in two consecutive games.

On the 21st (Korea time), Lee Jung-hoo started as the third center fielder in the second game of the 2025 Major League Baseball interleague series against the Kansas City Royals at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, where he recorded both a hit and an RBI in his third at-bat.

In the bottom of the first inning, with one out and runners on first base during a 0-0 tie, Lee Jung-hoo faced his first at-bat against Kansas City's right-handed starter Michael Lorenzen. He had a tenacious battle, going to seven pitches, but on the seventh pitch, he hit a low 85.1 mph (136 km/h) changeup for a popup to the right fielder.

In the bottom of the fourth, trailing 0-1, he came up as the leadoff hitter but was retired on a ground ball to the second baseman. With a 1 ball-2 strikes unfavorable count, he failed to hit Lorenzen's fourth pitch, an outside 94.5 mph (152 km/h) four-seam fastball.

The third at-bat was different. In the bottom of the fifth, with a 2-1 lead and no outs and runners on first and third, he faced Lorenzen again, battling to a full count, and then hit a 81.1 mph curveball on the sixth pitch for a go-ahead RBI single to center. It was his second consecutive hit.

San Francisco pulled ahead of Kansas City 3-1, thanks to Lee Jung-hoo's clutch hit.
