Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (29) delivered a strong message towards victory.

Tottenham will face Manchester United in the 2024-2025 UEFA Europa League (UEL) final at 4 a.m. on the 22nd (Korea time) at San Mames in Bilbao, Spain.

Tottenham aims for their first trophy in 17 years since the League Cup in 2008 and their first European title in 41 years since the UEFA Cup in 1984 through this final.

According to the global media 'ESPN,' the first-choice goalkeeper Vicario, who is originally from Italy, noted ahead of the final against Manchester United, "It will be really an incredible thing for the players, coaching staff, and especially the fans," and encouraged, "We know that we can leave our names in the history of this club."

He added, "Perhaps next year when we pass through the hallway to the locker room, we might see a photo of us holding the trophy. But it’s still uncertain."

He emphasized, "So we have to prepare as best as we can for that day and continue to give our best. To make history," reminding everyone of the importance of the final against Manchester United.

This season was not easy for Vicario, who transferred from Empoli to Tottenham in 2023. He was unable to play for three months due to an ankle fracture.

Vicario expressed pride, saying, "Injuries were really significant for me. Reaching a European competition final during this journey is something to be proud of," and noted, "Now there is only one thing left, to complete the last stage."

Tottenham has fought against Manchester United three times this season and won all matches. Tottenham won 3-0 in the sixth round of the Premier League last September, and in December, they triumphed 4-3 in the EFL Cup quarterfinals. Tottenham also secured a thrilling 1-0 victory in the 25th round of the league last February.

The only team to win against Manchester United four times in a single season was Everton in the 1985-1986 season. Tottenham is on the verge of making history for the second time. Manchester United has been winless in their last six matches against Tottenham (two draws, four losses).

Nevertheless, Brennan Johnson (24), who has emerged as the team's top scorer with 17 goals this season, remains focused. He stated, "We should not be complacent just because we've beaten Manchester United a few times."

He continued, "Now is the time to plan how we will win. The reasons we've won have been different each time," and emphasized, "We have prepared well, pondering what kind of play we will execute against Manchester United and which of their play we need to counter. This match is a completely new opportunity."

Johnson also added, "The Europa League has been a very positive driving force for us," explaining, "During tough times, we achieved good results in European away games, and we have come together much stronger." He noted, "Both the quarterfinal and semifinal victories were unbelievable, and it made us stronger and more united."
