Hankook Tire & Technology Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Jong-sun Ahn and Sang-hoon Lee, hereafter Hankook Tire) concluded the 8th and 9th rounds of the world's premier electric vehicle racing event, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (hereafter Formula E), for its 11th season, the 2025 Tokyo E-PRIX (2025 TOKYO E-PRIX), successfully on May 17 and 18.

The 'Tokyo Street Circuit,' where this event took place, emerged as the representative stage of Asian electric vehicle racing after being included for the first time in the official Formula E calendar in 2024. The urban circuit, measuring 2.582 km with a total of 18 corners and straight sections, posed challenging driving conditions with repeated rapid acceleration and deceleration, creating a fierce race where tire performance could determine the outcome amid unpredictable road conditions.

In the midst of fierce competition, Stoffel Vandoorne from Maserati MSG Racing and Oliver Rowland from the Nissan Formula E Team each claimed victory in the 8th and 9th rounds, respectively. Notably, at this juncture in the 11th season, Oliver Rowland has gained a significant lead with a total of 161 points, edging closer to becoming the season champion.

The next round of Formula E season 11 will be held from May 31 to June 1 at the 2025 Hankook Shanghai E-PRIX in Shanghai, China. The circuit, to be staged in one of the global electric vehicle industry's hubs, is expected to be another strategic battleground with a track layout emphasizing high-speed driving.

Hankook Tire is proving its exceptional technology on world-class motorsport stages such as Formula E and the World Rally Championship (WRC). Through various race-specific products, including the electric vehicle dedicated racing tire 'GEN3 Evo Ion Race,' it provides stable performance even in extreme driving conditions, thereby strengthening its leading position in the high-performance tire sector.
