The Hanwha Eagles of professional baseball set another KBO box office record with 18 consecutive sellouts at home. The continuous sellout records for home and away games have also increased to 20 games.
On the 18th, Hanwha's home game against the SSG Landers in the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon achieved a sellout of 17,000 seats as of 12:27 p.m.
As a result, Hanwha extended its KBO League record to 20 consecutive sellouts for home and away games. Starting from the away game against Lotte on the 23rd of last month, they continued their streak with 6 away games and 14 home games for a total of 20 consecutive sellouts.
The previous record for consecutive sellouts at home and away was 16 games. KIA filled stadiums with sellout crowds for 16 consecutive games from the game against Kiwoom on September 7 last year to the game against NC on March 23 this year, spanning two seasons. After setting a new record with 17 consecutive sellouts at the Daejeon Doosan game on the 15th, Hanwha added 3 more games to surpass 20.
Excluding away games, the consecutive sellouts for home games also reached a KBO League record of 18 games. All 17,000 seats were sold out for 18 consecutive home games starting from the game against Kiwoom on the 13th of last month.
Hanwha also holds the previous record in this category. From the game against Lotte on October 16, 2023, to the game against SSG on May 1 last year, they achieved a sellout for 17 consecutive games at Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park. This record was also surpassed by Hanwha itself after one year.
As of that day, Hanwha had 22 sellouts out of 25 home games this year, reaching a sellout rate of 88%. The total attendance was 422,268, averaging 16,891 spectators. This surpassed last year's average attendance of 11,327, marking a record for the club, and breaking through the 1 million spectators milestone seems attainable.
With the new home stadium, Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon, opening and Hanwha achieving a 12-game winning streak for the first time in 33 years, fan interest is soaring. Each location where the Hanwha games are held is packed with fans, positioning them at the center of KBO League's box office success.
