On the 18th, the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League achieved a total attendance of 89,654 across five stadiums, reaching 4 million spectators.
As of today, the cumulative attendance has recorded 4,006,296, achieving 4 million spectators in just 230 games, the fewest in history. Furthermore, reaching 4 million spectators also set the record for the fewest games, with 1 million, 2 million, and 3 million all reached this season in the least number of games.
The previous record for achieving 4 million spectators in the fewest games was 255 games in the 2012 season. However, by achieving 4 million spectators in just 230 games today, the previous record has been shortened by 25 games, and it surpasses last year’s record of 285 games, which set the all-time high for attendance, by 55 games.
Additionally, 55 games after surpassing 3 million spectators on May 5, 4 million spectators were achieved, marking it as the fewest games record that surpasses the 65 games from the 2012 season.
As of the 18th, the average attendance was 17,419, representing an increase of about 20% compared to the same number of games last year.
By team, Samsung leads with attendance of 616,310 in 28 home games, surpassing 600,000 spectators first among all teams. Following Samsung is LG with 547,570 spectators. Doosan with 464,237 spectators, Lotte with 450,346 spectators, SSG with 439,102 spectators, KIA with 426,610 spectators, and Hanwha with 422,268 spectators have all exceeded 400,000.
The average attendance also has Samsung in first place with 22,011 spectators. Following are LG with 21,903 spectators and Doosan with 20,184 spectators, with three teams recording an average attendance of over 20,000.
Sellouts continue at various stadiums. Out of the 230 games played as of the 18th, 114 games, which is half, have sold out. Hanwha recorded sellouts in 22 of its 25 home games, the most, followed by Samsung with 21 sellouts and LG with 15 sellouts, with six teams recording sellouts more than 10 times.
Meanwhile, Lotte secured a 6-3 victory against Samsung in a home game at Sajik Stadium on the 18th, completing a weekend sweep against Samsung. Starting pitcher Tucker Davidson earned his sixth victory of the season, throwing 6 innings and allowing 5 hits, 3 walks, and 1 run while striking out 8.
