Heo Il-young (LG), who achieved the record of three teams winning in KBL, was crowned the MVP of the championship series.

Changwon LG defeated Seoul SK 62-58 in game 7 of the 2024-2025 KCC professional basketball championship held on the 17th at the Seoul Jamsil Student Gymnasium.

With this victory, LG reached the championship finals for the first time since participating in KBL in the 1997-1998 season.

LG's best player, Heo Il-young, was selected as MVP by a vote of the press after the game.

That day, Heo Il-young scored 14 points, including four three-pointers, becoming the highest scorer among both teams. In particular, Heo Il-young recorded a three-pointer while SK's fierce pursuit continued, leading LG to its first championship victory.

Heo Il-young consistently sank three-pointers whenever LG wobbled. The final touch came with 5 minutes and 36 seconds remaining in the game. Heo Il-young received a pass from Asem Marey at the top and successfully made a cool outside shot, extending the lead to 10 points (55-45) and dousing SK's pursuit with refreshing water.

Notably, Heo Il-young also shares in the first record. He became the first player to win while wearing three different team uniforms. After winning with ORION (now SONO) in the 2015-2016 season, following with SK in the 2021-2022 season, he has now earned a ring this season, establishing himself as the best veteran.
