Hanwha Eagles failed to tie the record for the most consecutive wins in the Futures League.

Hanwha lost 2-3 in the first game of the doubleheader against the LG Twins in the 2025 Futures League held at Seosan Stadium on the 17th. They trailed 2-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning and had a chance to finish the game with runners on second and third with no outs, but lost by one run. Thus, Hanwha's winning streak ended at 13.

The record for the most consecutive wins in the Futures League is 14. In 2021, LG and in 2022, Hanwha achieved this.

LG's starting pitcher Lee Ji-kang became the winning pitcher after throwing 98 pitches in 6 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 6 without giving up a run. Hanwha's starting pitcher Bae Min-seo was the losing pitcher after 4 innings, allowing 2 hits, striking out 3, and giving up 1 run. Jang Ji-soo allowed 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 runs in ⅓ inning.

LG's attacks ended in three up, three down during the 1st to 3rd innings. In the 4th inning, the leadoff batter Son Yong-jun recorded LG's first hit with a lead-off double to center. Um Tae-kyung's ground out to the second baseman resulted in 1 out and a runner on third base. Moon Jeong-bin struck out swinging, but Kim Seong-jin hit an RBI single to left to score the first run.

Lee Ji-kang ended the 1st inning in three up, three down, and also completed the 2nd inning in three up, three down. In the 3rd inning, he allowed a walk to the leadoff batter Jeong Min-gyu but retired the next three batters. In the 4th inning, he struck out 2 batters again to finish in three up, three down. In the 5th inning, he allowed a hit to Jeong Min-gyu after 2 outs but struck out Shin Woo-jae.

In the 6th inning, against Hanwha's bullpen Jang Ji-soo, Son Yong-jun got on base with a hit to left field after 1 out, and advanced to second on a wild pitch during Um Tae-kyung's at-bat. Um Tae-kyung hit a center field RBI single to bring home the runner on second, leading 2-0.

Then, Moon Jeong-bin and Kim Seong-jin drew consecutive walks, setting up a bases-loaded situation with 1 out. Hanwha replaced pitcher Jang Ji-soo with Lee Min-woo. Lee Tae-hoon's left field RBI single added another run, making it 3-0. In the continued bases-loaded chance with 1 out, Jeon Gyeong-won hit a ground ball to the pitcher, ending the attack with a double play.

In the bottom of the 7th inning, during the final attack, Hanwha's leadoff batter Kim In-hwan got on base with a hit against the newly changed pitcher Lim Jun-hyung. Ahn Jin got a walk on the 7th pitch, and Park Sang-eon drew a straight walk, creating a bases-loaded opportunity with no outs.

LG replaced pitcher Lim Jun-hyung with Kim Joo-won. Jeong Min-gyu hit a double down the left field line, bringing home 2 runners. They trailed 2-3, with a chance to finish the game with runners on second and third and no outs.

However, Shin Woo-jae struck out swinging on the 4th pitch. Han Kyung-bin's hit was a ground ball to the first baseman, resulting in the third base runner being tagged out at home. With 2 outs and runners on first and third, Kim Geon hit a ground ball to the third baseman, ending the game.

LG's bullpen pitcher Kim Joo-won allowed a double with the bases loaded, but preserved the victory, preventing Hanwha's 14-game winning streak.
