Our team has had solo concerts frequently. I kept hoping for a rain cancellation, and today happens to be that day.

Kiwoom Heroes manager Hong Won-ki said on the 16th after the away game against the NC Dinos, scheduled to be held at Ulsan Munsoo Stadium, was postponed due to rain. He noted that while players can take a day off, they have to play a doubleheader on the 17th.

Using Gocheok Sky Dome, the only domed stadium in the country, as their home ground, Kiwoom has been far from rain cancellations. Manager Hong Won-ki expressed his disappointment, saying, “Our team has had solo concerts frequently. I kept hoping for a rain cancellation, and today happens to be that day.”

He visited Munsoo Stadium for the first time in six years and said, “It feels new. There are many baseball fans in Ulsan, and this gives them the chance to see the players up close, which will help expand baseball's base.”

Manager Hong Won-ki added, “Ulsan is a city with a strong passion for sports. I think it’s a good environment in many ways.”

Regarding the doubleheader special roster plan, manager Hong said, “As for now, I plan to call up one pitcher and one position player. This will be the first doubleheader of the season, but I’m worried because players’ performance has dropped significantly. We can't have any injured players.”

He also expressed concern, saying, “When a definite starting pitcher goes out, plans can be set to some extent, but due to the nature of doubleheaders, there can be situations where a pitcher appears twice in one day. There is of course a physical burden, and the risk of injury exists.”

He concluded the interview by saying, “It’s nice that it rained, but since we have to do the doubleheader tomorrow, I’m a bit worried. This is also the will of the heavens, so since today’s game was canceled, the players will rest well and prepare well for the doubleheader tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, NC will pitch Logan as the starter in the first game of the doubleheader on the 17th. Kiwoom will stick with Kim Sun-ki, who was announced as the starting pitcher on the 16th.
