The professional baseball team LG Twins is now changing its lineup daily.

Top hitter Hong Chang-ki is sidelined due to a knee microfracture, so for the time being, the top hitter will be Park Hae-min, and right fielder will be Song Chan-eui to fill the gap left by Hong Chang-ki.

LG will face Kiwoom Heroes at Seoul's Jamsil Stadium on the 15th. On that day, Moon Seong-ju was also excluded from the lineup. The table setter is Park Hae-min and Kim Hyun-soo, the first combination of the season.

LG's starting lineup will feature Park Hae-min (center fielder), Kim Hyun-soo (first baseman), Austin (designated hitter), Moon Bo-kyung (third baseman), Park Dong-won (catcher), Oh Ji-hwan (shortstop), Song Chan-eui (right fielder), Ham Chang-geon (left fielder), and Koo Bon-hyeok (second baseman). Ham Chang-geon received a starting opportunity for the second time this season.

Manager Yeom Kyung-yeop noted in a pre-game interview regarding Moon Seong-ju's absence from the starting lineup, "His back is a bit heavy. So we are excluding him from the starting lineup and having him wait as a pinch hitter." He added, "We need to prevent injuries in advance." With injuries piling up, injury prevention is the biggest task.

Moon Seong-ju has struggled with back injuries since spring camp this season and has previously missed time from the roster early in the season. Manager Yeom stated, "If Austin goes out as the first baseman from tomorrow, Moon Seong-ju can go out as the designated hitter. Since Austin continues as the designated hitter, we can't rotate him. From tomorrow, Seong-ju will go out as the designated hitter, and then we will take turns going out as the designated hitter."

He added, "I was planning to use Austin at first base today, but he needs to rest safely. I was also considering using Bo-kyung as the designated hitter today since he has run a lot."

Manager Yeom emphasized that relief pitchers need to find their roles. Closer Jang Hyun-sik will miss about four weeks due to a latissimus dorsi injury, and setup pitcher Kim Gang-ryul is excluded from the first-team roster for ten days due to shoulder discomfort.

The remaining setup pitchers are Kim Jin-sung and Park Myung-geun. Baek Seung-hyun, Bae Jae-jun, and Kim Young-woo, who have shown somewhat stable pitching from the bullpen, must take on setup roles.

Manager Yeom stated, "As long as we can hold on well until the end of May, things will improve significantly when Young-chan comes back. By early June, Deok-ju might also be available." Lee Jung-yong, who is currently serving in the military, is also scheduled to be discharged in mid-June.

Meanwhile, LG's starting pitcher for the day is Lim Chan-kyu. He has recorded six wins and one loss with an earned run average of 2.09 over eight games this season. He ranks third in the league in earned run average.
