Cristiano Ronaldo (40, Al Nassr) has had his eldest son become a national representative following in his father's footsteps.
The Portugal U15 national team defeated Japan 4-1 at the U15 Youth Tournament held in Croatia on the 13th. Ronaldo's eldest son, Ronaldo Jr., made his debut for the national team, stepping onto the field in the 9th minute of the second half when Portugal was leading 3-0.
Ronaldo posted on his social media, "Congratulations, son! Congratulations on your debut for the Portugal national team. I am so proud of you."
Ronaldo Jr. is playing for the youth team of his father's club, Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr. Portugal will face Greece and England consecutively.
At 14 years old, Ronaldo Jr. is expected to grow to a height similar to his father, who is 187 cm tall, as he has recently experienced rapid growth. Ronaldo Jr. is also being seen as a forward in his team.
Father Ronaldo is a legend in Portugal. He holds the record for the most goals scored in international matches with an impressive 136 goals for the Portugal national team. Notably, he led Portugal to its first-ever championship at Euro 2016.
