Outfielder Choi Won-jun of the KIA Tigers hit three hits, including a home run, in the Futures League.

Choi Won-jun started as the number one center fielder in the game against the SSG Landers in the March 13 game held at Ganghwa SSG Futures Field in the 2025 Futures League, where he went 5 for 3 with 1 home run, 1 walk, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs, leading his team to an 11-3 victory.

Choi Won-jun was demoted to the second team due to batting struggles on the 5th. He can be called up to the first team starting the 15th. Before going down to the second team, Choi struggled with a .167 batting average (5 hits in 30 at-bats) over his previous 10 games. His season statistics include a .210 batting average (22 hits in 105 at-bats), 2 home runs, 9 RBIs, and an OPS of .558.

In the bottom of the second inning, SSG created a bases-loaded chance after one out with Kim Su-yoon's walk, Choi Yoon-seok's walk, and Heo Jin being hit by a pitch, and they scored the first run with Choi Sang-min's push walk. Park Ji-hwan failed to add more runs with a ground ball double play.

KIA equalized at 1-1 in the top of the third when lead-off batter Kim Tae-gun hit a solo home run. In the top of the fourth inning, KIA took the lead 3-2 when, with one out and a runner on first, Kim Ho-ryeong stole second and Park Min hit a clutch single. Yoon Do-hyun hit a double to right to create a scoring chance with runners on second and third. Choi Won-jun added 2 RBIs with a clutch single to right, extending the score to 5-2.

In the top of the fifth inning, KIA extended its lead to 6-2 when, with one out, Lee Young-jae's hit, Hwang Dae-in's walk, and Ye Jin-won's walk created a bases-loaded opportunity, leading to Kim Tae-gun's sacrifice fly.

In the top of the seventh inning, KIA had two outs with runners on first and second following Hwang Dae-in's walk and Joo Hyo-sang's hit. Yoon Do-hyun hit a clutch single to left, making it 7-2. Choi Won-jun drew a walk, creating a bases-loaded situation, but Choi Jeong-yong ended the inning with a strikeout.

Joo Hyo-sang and Park Min drew consecutive push walks, extending the score to 11-3.

Meanwhile, KIA relief pitcher Lim Gi-young pitched in the sixth inning, recording one inning with one hit and no earned runs. He allowed a hit to lead-off batter Hyeon Won-hui, but struck out Kim Gyu-min, Kim Su-yoon, and Choi Yoon-seok, all on flyouts. He has maintained no earned runs over the past three games.
