Lee Kang-in (24, Paris Saint-Germain) is gaining momentum for a move to Arsenal.
ESPN reported on the 8th, "PSG forward Lee Kang-in is in consolidation with Arsenal. The 24-year-old has reached the Champions League final. His market value is €20 million (about 31.7 billion won)."
The Sun also reported on the transfer rumors of Lee Kang-in, stating, "Korea national team forward Lee Kang-in has not been getting enough playing time at PSG. Arsenal's new director, Andrea Bert, is a big fan of Lee Kang-in. He tried to recruit Lee Kang-in when the player was at Mallorca during his time at Atletico Madrid in 2023."
Paris Saint-Germain will face Inter Milan in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League final, which will be held at 4 a.m. (Korea time) on June 1 at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. Having already secured the Ligue 1 championship, PSG is set to conquer Europe.
Paris Saint-Germain won the first leg of the semifinals against Arsenal 1-0. Lee Kang-in was on the substitute list but did not get any playing time. He is effectively classified as outside of PSG's plans.
The second leg was no different. Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal 2-1 at home. PSG took an early lead of 2-0 and substituted three players in the second half. Lee Kang-in was not called upon by head coach Luis Enrique.
British outlet Football Express reported on the 8th, "Arsenal will try to acquire PSG's Lee Kang-in this summer. Arsenal has already contacted Lee Kang-in's side. Lee Kang-in is a very talented player but has not received much playing time at PSG, overshadowed by other players. Arsenal has made a firm decision to acquire Lee Kang-in."
The outlet added, "Arsenal had also targeted Lee Kang-in in the January transfer window. If an appropriate offer comes from PSG, they plan to let Lee Kang-in go. PSG brought Lee Kang-in, who was playing at Mallorca, for £18.7 million (about 34.7 billion won). PSG would let Lee Kang-in go for at least £17 million (about 31.6 billion won). The likelihood of Lee Kang-in transferring is very high."
