If Ruben Amorim (40), the coach, leaves Manchester United, Massimiliano Allegri (58) has been mentioned as a potential successor.

According to Britain's 'TalkSport,' on the 13th, "Former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is regarded as the most likely candidate for the next Manchester United manager."

Allegri has been unemployed since leaving Juventus last season and is a distinguished coach who has won the Serie A title six times (five with Juventus and once with AC Milan). He had previously negotiated with West Ham United, but after parting ways with coach Julen Lopetegui, West Ham opted for Graham Potter.

The background to Allegri emerging as a strong candidate is the uncertain future of the current head coach, Ruben Amorim. Amorim took charge of Manchester United last year as the successor to Erik ten Hag, but the team's league performance remains poor.

In a recent home match against West Ham, they lost 0-2, dropping to 16th place in the league standings. This marks the lowest ranking in Manchester United's history since being promoted to the first division in 1975.

According to TalkSport, Coach Amorim recently made unsettling remarks regarding his position. Right after the match against West Ham, Amorim stated in an interview with 'BBC,' "All members need to seriously consider many things. This is not a problem that can be solved simply by reaching the UEFA Europa League final. We must change the culture within the club and the team."

He added, "This is a decisive moment in the club's history. This summer, we must strengthen and be brave. If this situation continues, I must yield my position to someone else."

TalkSport reported, "The Manchester United management currently has no plans to dismiss Coach Amorim, but they cannot rule out the possibility of him resigning."

In addition to Coach Allegri, Oliver Glasner, who led Crystal Palace to the FA Cup final, is considered the second most likely candidate for the next manager. Glasner took charge of Palace starting in February 2024 and has only one year left on his contract, drawing interest from Germany's RB Leipzig.

TalkSport also noted that current U.S. men's national team coach Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna, and England national team coach Gareth Southgate are among the likely candidates for the next Manchester United manager.

Coach Amorim signed a contract with Manchester United until 2027 at the end of last year. Manchester United will earn a UEFA Champions League spot for the next season if they defeat Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final on the 22nd.
