News has emerged that Hansi Flick (60), the coach, has agreed to a contract renewal with FC Barcelona. The contract is extended until 2027, continuing a successful journey.

Germany's Sky Sports reported on the 12th (Korea time) that "Hansi Flick has agreed to extend his contract with FC Barcelona until 2027."

According to Sky Sports, Barcelona and Coach Flick finalized the details through negotiations over the past several hours. Both sides have already reached a verbal agreement. Coach Flick's agent, Pini Zahavi, personally visited Barcelona to conclude the negotiations and will soon sign the official contract. The existing contract was until 2026.

Coach Flick has brought success to Barcelona this season. Especially, with the victory against Real Madrid in the El Clásico held on the 11th, they set a remarkable record of winning all four El Clásico derbies this season. As a result, Barcelona has recorded 104 wins, 52 draws, and 105 losses out of 261 matches played against Real Madrid, leaving only one win to equalize the head-to-head record.

It’s not just against Real Madrid where they are strong. Even with many players injured, young players have been actively used, and Barcelona currently leads second-place Real Madrid by 7 points with 3 matches remaining until the league ends, effectively putting the championship within reach.

If Barcelona wins the 'Derbi Barceloni' against RCD Espanyol, their next league match, they will confirm the league title early.

In addition to the possibility of winning the league, Coach Flick has already lifted the Copa del Rey (Spanish King’s Cup) and the Supercopa de España (Spanish Super Cup) trophies this season. In the UEFA Champions League, they advanced to the semifinals with impressive momentum but unfortunately lost to Inter Milan, failing to reach the final.

Sky Sports added, "Zahavi is still in Barcelona. The new contract will be finalized soon."
