Jürgen Klinsmann, former coach of the South Korean national team, continues to gossip about Korea.

Klinsmann recently appeared on a podcast in the United States and brought up the story of Lee Kang-in and Son Heung-min fighting during the 2024 Asian Cup again.

Klinsmann caused controversy by working remotely from his mansion in the United States for more than half of his tenure with the South Korean national team. There were many criticisms that a coach who should be observing and guiding players on the field was negligent in his duties.

At the time, Klinsmann insisted, "Most of the South Korean national team plays abroad. It is natural for the coach to frequently travel abroad. I will not change my style."

However, Klinsmann, who appeared on the broadcast, said, "I spent most of my time in Seoul during my time as coach of the South Korean national team. South Korea has many outstanding players like PSG's Lee Kang-in, Tottenham's Son Heung-min, and Bayern Munich's Kim Min-jae, but we did not achieve good results in the Asian Cup," starting with a lie.

Klinsmann was dismissed in February of last year due to failure to win the Asian Cup and his lack of diligent work attitude. Following this, it was revealed that Klinsmann had ignored the discord between Son Heung-min and Lee Kang-in, which further fueled public outrage. Klinsmann, who had a contract until the 2026 North and Central American World Cup, was dismissed but walked away with more than 7 billion won in severance pay. He benefited from tax advantages due to his short domestic stay.

However, Klinsmann blamed Son Heung-min and Lee Kang-in for the failure to win in Korea. He claimed, "Before the semifinals against Jordan, Lee Kang-in and Son Heung-min got into a fistfight. Lee Kang-in made an inappropriate joke and realized his mistake too late. In fact, Son Heung-min started assaulting Lee Kang-in," making statements that were not accurate.

Klinsmann's assertion that Son Heung-min unilaterally assaulted Lee Kang-in is not true. Klinsmann, who was the coach at the time, ignored the situation even though he was present. There are suspicions that Klinsmann was the one who tipped off the British media outlet 'The Sun' about the incident. Based on Klinsmann's behavior, insulting Korea on the broadcast, it seems entirely possible.

Klinsmann lamented, "We lost to Jordan, a team we should have easily defeated in the semifinals. The Korea Football Association questioned this as a coaching failure."

Despite having faced Jordan multiple times, Klinsmann brought the same tactics and became 'food' for the opponent. He absolutely refuses to acknowledge his mistakes and responsibilities.

Despite all this, Klinsmann is living well in the United States, pocketing the remaining salary of 7 billion won given by the football association. He also serves as a panelist for EPSN and once again mentioned Lee Kang-in, who reached the Champions League final with PSG.
