Hyundai Mobis has chosen 'legend' Yang Dong-geun as its new head coach.

Hyundai Mobis announced on the afternoon of the 13th, "Yang Dong-geun has been appointed as the new head coach."

Yang Dong-geun, the new head coach, joined Hyundai Mobis as the overall first pick in the 2004 rookie draft and has been a one-club man, playing for 17 years with the same team until 2020. He started with the Rookie of the Year award in his debut season, won the regular season championship six times, was named MVP four times, won the championship 6 times, and was named MVP twice, leaving the greatest achievements in KBL history and earning the nickname "the heart of Mobis" from fans.

Yang Dong-geun has continued his journey with Hyundai Mobis after retiring as a player, working as a coach and senior coach since 2021, and has been appointed as the 7th head coach of Hyundai Mobis, following Jo Dong-hyun, 21 years after joining the team.

Hyundai Mobis stated, "Although head coach Jo Dong-hyun achieved satisfactory results over the last three seasons, we determined that it was time for internal changes as the contract expiration approached."

This season, with 33 wins and 21 losses, Hyundai Mobis finished 4th in the regular season and achieved three consecutive wins against Anyang Jeonggwanjang in the playoff quarterfinals to advance to the semifinal playoffs. However, they ended the season after losing three consecutive games to Changwon LG.
