Eight years later, returning to Pohang Baseball Stadium brings back my original spirit and helps me refocus.

Professional baseball KT Wiz foreign batter Mel Rojas Jr. reminisced about old memories before the Pohang Samsung Lions game on the 13th. This is because he made his Korea Baseball Organization League debut on June 13, 2017.

After 2889 days since June 15, 2017, when Mel Rojas Jr. returned to Pohang Stadium, he recalled, "I remember when I first joined Pohang. At that time, I knew nothing about Korea and Pohang Baseball Stadium seemed so open and like the best stadium."

He added, "I remember being struck out by Woo Kyumin and getting a hit. There’s also an episode where I was served pasta before the game, but I couldn't use chopsticks properly, so I ate it with a spoon."

At that time, Mel Rojas Jr., who wore the KT uniform as a substitute for Johnny Monell, said, "Now that time has passed, I feel that I’ve adapted to the KBO League a lot, and I see that the players have become younger and that there are many good friends."

He also smiled brightly, noting, "Although I wasn't part of the championship team, I was happy to hear that KT won the Korean Series, seeing the team grow as a member from the early days."

Mel Rojas Jr. is regarded as the best foreign batter in the KBO League. He expressed gratitude, saying, "Many fans call me the best foreign player and it really feels good and I am thankful. I never thought that both Cueva and I would stay this long, but it is an honor to still be able to play. The fans are the driving force behind my play."

He has two goals: to reach the top with KT and to break the foreign player records of Davis and Woods. Mel Rojas Jr. stated, "I will continue to work hard for these two goals and for KT."

Woo Kyumin, who recorded a strikeout and a hit against Mel Rojas Jr. while belonging to Samsung at the time, smiled and said, "I initially thought Rojas wasn't much until I struck him out for the first time. However, since then, I don't remember striking him out. He is really a terrifying batter. I'm glad we are playing on the same team now, and it feels like a lot of time has passed."
