The Hanwha Eagles recorded 14 consecutive sellouts, achieving a tie for the all-time record in the KBO League.
On the 11th, Hanwha secured an 8-0 victory against the Kiwoom Heroes in the ‘2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League’ at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
This season, Hanwha is leading the league with a record of 27 wins and 13 losses and a winning percentage of .675. After a poor start to the season, they achieved an eight-game winning streak from the game against Kiwoom on the 13th of last month to the game against Lotte on the 23rd. For the first time in the club’s history, Hanwha also recorded eight consecutive starting wins, the first since 2023. Although they briefly faltered with two consecutive losses, they are now on a 12-game winning streak.
Fans rewarded Hanwha’s winning streak with continuous sellouts. On the 24th of last month, Hanwha recorded a sellout with 22,669 fans at the Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan during the away game against Lotte. Following that, they achieved sellouts for all three home games against the KT Wiz at Hanwha Life Eagles Park (17,000 seats) and the LG Twins (one game was canceled due to rain).
Hanwha's sellout streak did not end there. In the three-game away series against KIA at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field (25,000 seats) on the 2nd, they recorded sellouts for two games, and all three home games against Samsung from the 5th to the 7th were also sold out.
Leaving their home stadium again, Hanwha entered a three-game away series against the Kiwoom Heroes at the Gocheok Sky Dome (16,000 seats) starting on the 9th, where they also achieved sellouts for all three games. With a full house, Hanwha swept the three-game series against Kiwoom, achieving their 12th consecutive victory, the first since May 23, 1992, after a victory in the second game of a doubleheader against SSANGBANGWOOL in Cheongju, 12,041 days ago.
Hanwha is now challenging the club's all-time record for most consecutive wins (14) set by Binggrae on May 26, 1992, against Lotte. Starting from the 13th, Hanwha will face the Doosan Bears in a three-game home series. If the winning streak continues, they could challenge for their first 15 consecutive wins in the last game of the series on the 15th.
Continuing their sellout streak from the 24th against Lotte to today’s game against Kiwoom, Hanwha recorded 14 consecutive sellouts, tying the all-time KBO record for consecutive sellouts with KIA from last year (from Sept. 7, 2024, against Kiwoom in Gwangju to Sept. 30, 2024, against NC in Gwangju). As they are still challenging the club record for most consecutive wins, the three-game series against Doosan has already sold out. Although there is a variable of canceled tickets, it is highly likely that they will break the all-time consecutive sellout record in the KBO.
As Hanwha is having a historic season, attention is drawn to whether they will set another major record to prove the love of their fans.
