Park Hyun-kyung (25, Mediheal), who tied for 8th place at the JLPGA major tournament, will also receive 38 points from the 'KLPGA Wemade Daesang points.' This is thanks to the implementation of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association's (KLPGA) strategy to 'accelerate global strategy.'

The KLPGA officially announced this on Dec. 12.

Park Hyun-kyung achieved a top-ten finish by participating in the JLPGA major tournament 'World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup' held in Japan last weekend.

In April, the KLPGA revised its regulations to grant the same Daesang points for rankings in overseas USLPGA and JLPGA major tournaments as those awarded in domestic major tournaments when KLPGA Tour players achieve a top performance (within the top 10) at such events as part of its key policies for 'accelerating global strategy.'

Consequently, Park Hyun-kyung received 38 points in Wemade Daesang points, which is the same amount awarded for 8th place in domestic major tournaments. With this point acquisition, her cumulative points increased from 77 to 115, elevating her ranking from 11th to a tie for 7th.

Following the implementation of this regulation, Park Hyun-kyung became the first KLPGA player to earn official domestic points through performances in overseas major tournaments.

Park Hyun-kyung noted, "Just participating in overseas major tournaments on behalf of the country was significant, and I am very happy to gain Daesang points with such a good performance. I will continue to build my skills on various stages and return the favor to the fans with a more developed appearance."

In the 2025 season KLPGA Wemade Daesang points competition, Lee Ye-won (22, Mediheal) rose to first place after winning the previous week's 'NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship,' followed closely by Bang Shin-sil (21, KB Financial Group), Hong Jung-min (23, CJ), and Ko Ji-woo (23, Samchuly) who are all notable players with tight point differences.
