Lamine Yamal (18, Barcelona) talked about the league championship after the victory in El Clásico.

FC Barcelona secured a dramatic comeback victory against Real Madrid in the 35th round of La Liga at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Spain, on Nov. 11 (Korea time) during the 2024-2025 season.

This brings their season record to four wins in four matchups. With 82 points, they effectively secured the championship by extending their lead over second-place Real Madrid (75 points) to 7 points.

Barcelona employed a 4-2-3-1 formation. Ferran Torres took the role of the front striker, while Raphinha, Dani Olmo, and Lamine Yamal formed the attacking midfield trio. Pedri and Frenkie de Jong manned the midfield, and Gerard Piqué, Iñigo Martínez, Pau Cubarsí, and Eric García made up the back four. Wojciech Szczesny guarded the goal.

Real Madrid also lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Kylian Mbappé aimed for goals, supported by Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, and Arda Güler in the attack. Dani Ceballos and Federico Valverde controlled the midfield, while Fran García, Raúl Asensio, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Lucas Vázquez formed the back four. The gloves of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois were donned.

The early game flow favored Real Madrid. Just two minutes into the match, Mbappé drew a foul from Szczesny to score from the penalty spot, and then in the 14th minute, he completed a multi-goal performance with a pass from Vinícius.

Barcelona did not collapse. In the 19th minute, Eric García scored a header to reduce the deficit, and in the 32nd minute, Yamal netted an equalizer with a curling shot, changing the flow of the game. Then in the 34th minute, Raphinha scored to take the lead, and in the 45th minute, Raphinha added another goal to finish the first half 4-2.

Real Madrid pulled a goal back in the 70th minute with Mbappé's hat trick, but they failed to capitalize on subsequent chances, and a stoppage-time goal by Fermín López was ruled out for a handball. In the end, the match concluded with Barcelona winning 4-3.

After the match, beIN Sports reported Yamal's interview. In this match, Yamal not only scored one goal but also recorded seven shots, an 89% pass success rate (31/35), created three chances, had six touches in the opponent's box, and successfully dribbled four times, shaking the Real Madrid defense.

According to reports, Yamal said, "We absolutely needed a win to keep our hopes for the La Liga championship alive. That's why this match was really important."

He noted, "It’s significant to have played such a match in front of the fans right after being eliminated from the Champions League. It was a much-needed victory emotionally."

He added, "We made too many mistakes towards the end of the match. The goals we conceded were truly disappointing. Real Madrid didn't create that many chances."

Due to the remodeling of their home ground Camp Nou, they had to play this season's matches at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, and he expressed his gratitude for the support from the fans. He said, "This season has not been easy. Not being able to play in our home ground was a big loss. Nevertheless, the fans have always been with us. It was the same today."

He emphasized, "I told my mom not to worry. The Champions League is something we will challenge again every year. Today was a match we absolutely couldn't miss to keep our La Liga hopes alive."

beIN Sports added, "The 17-year-old boy is demonstrating through action rather than words."
