Professional baseball team Hanwha Eagles continued their unstoppable rise with a 12-game winning streak.
Hanwha achieved an 8-0 victory against Kiwoom Heroes in the '2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League' at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on Nov. 11. With this victory, Hanwha continued their 12-game winning streak. It is their 12th consecutive win after 12,041 days since a win in the second game of the doubleheader against SSANGBANGWOOL in Cheongju on May 23, 1992.
Hanwha's lineup recorded 11 hits and 1 home run. Lee Jin-young hit his 4th home run of the season, and Hwang Young-mook, Moon Hyun-bin, and Noh Si-hwan each contributed multi-hits. Starting pitcher Ryan Weiss pitched brilliantly, going 8 innings with 1 hit allowed, 2 walks, and 9 strikeouts without allowing a run, earning his 6th win of the season. Kim Jong-soo completed the game in the 9th inning.
In the top of the 3rd inning, lead-off batter Yidoo got on base with a walk, and Moon Hyun-bin hit a single, creating a 1st and 3rd base chance with 2 outs. Following this, a throwing error by the catcher occurred during Moon Hyun-bin's attempt to steal 2nd, allowing 3rd base runner Yidoo to score the first run. In the 5th inning with 1 out, Hwang Young-mook recorded a hit, and with Florio's walk and Moon Hyun-bin's ground ball, they had another chance with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd. Hanwha easily added a run with a wild pitch, and Noh Si-hwan hit a 1-RBI single to extend their lead.
Having seized the momentum, Hanwha's Lee Jin-young hit a solo home run in the 6th inning. Following this, Lee Won-seok drew a walk, and Lee Jae-won's single set up a no-out situation with runners on 1st and 3rd. Yidoo easily broadened the score to 5-0 with a 1-RBI single. In the 9th inning, lead-off hitter Hwang Young-mook hit a double, followed by Moon Hyun-bin's 1-RBI double, Noh Si-hwan's 1-RBI single, and Lee Won-seok's 1-RBI single, further sealing the game.
Hanwha's manager Kim Kyung-moon praised Weiss, saying, "We were able to control the game thanks to Weiss's perfect pitching that held back the opposing lineup. I want to commend Weiss for his great pitching that helped secure the team victory," referring to Weiss, who nearly achieved a shutout in the game.
"I thank all the fans who have come to support us regardless of home or away games," said manager Kim Kyung-moon, adding, "We will strive to show even better performances in the future," expressing gratitude to the fans who filled every seat at Gocheok Dome that day.
Hanwha will face Doosan Bears in a home three-game series starting on the 13th at Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park.
