"I love Hongcheon!" The Hongcheon basketball festival has concluded its grand finale.
The NH NongHyup Bank 2025 KXO 3x3 Hongcheon Light Quest was held on the 11th at the special court in Tori Forest City Park in Hongcheon County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. Twelve teams were divided into four groups for preliminary rounds, after which eight teams advanced to the tournament to compete for the championship.
In the final match, Widerrecht (Netherlands) defeated Jump Shot (Singapore) 21-17 to claim the victory. The winning team, Widerrecht, was awarded a spot in the Jakarta Challenger.
Norbert Telson, who excelled in the crucial moments, was named MVP. He noted, "It's an amazing feeling. I came all the way to Korea and was tired, but I kept pushing and was able to win. I was eliminated from the Challenger yesterday, but I focused and gave more energy."
Widerrecht's ace role was played by gold medalist Dimeo van der Hoest from the Paris Olympics. Telson said, "Gold medalist Hoest has a lot of experience. He knows our strengths and weaknesses well and focused on our strengths. He personally gave me a lot of advice," attributing the victory to the veteran.
The victory left a good memory for the Dutch players. Telson said, "I came to Hongcheon last year but couldn't win the Challenger. I'm glad I could win the Quest this year. I love Hongcheon. Since I'm still a student, I will save the prize money for now," he smiled.
