Jeonbuk Hyundai, led by the performances of Jeon Jin-woo and Song Bum-keun, emerged victorious.

Jeonbuk triumphed 1-0 against Gwangju FC in the Hana Bank K League 1 2025 Round 13 away match held at Gwangju World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on the 11th, accelerating their pursuit of league leaders Daejeon Hana Citizen.

Continuing their unbeaten streak to 9 matches (6 wins and 3 draws), Jeonbuk recorded 25 points (7 wins, 4 draws, and 2 losses), maintaining a 3-point gap from Daejeon (28 points), who played one match more.

On this day, Jeonbuk positioned Jeon Jin-woo at the front and formed their attacking line with Kompanjo and Song Min-kyu. In the midfield, Kim Jin-kyu, Park Jin-seob, and Kang Sang-yun took the field. The back line featured Kim Tae-hyun, Kim Young-bin, Hong Jeong-ho, and Kim Tae-hwan. The starting goalkeeper was Song Bum-keun.

Jeonbuk achieved a meaningful result thanks to the performances of Jeon Jin-woo and Song Bum-keun. Jeon Jin-woo once again finished in a chaotic situation and not only rose to become the joint top scorer in the league but also saw Song Bum-keun successfully block all of the opponent's fierce attacks, exhibiting perfect harmony in defense and offense.

From the beginning of the first half, rather than excessively confronting the opponent's offense, Jeonbuk slowly built up, capitalizing on an unmarked chance on the right side in the 11th minute via Song Min-kyu and Kompanjo. This was thwarted by Kim Kyung-min, who dived to make the save.

Finally, the balance was broken. The protagonist of the goal was Jeon Jin-woo. He, who was scoring his 7th goal in the league, netted the ball in the 39th minute from a corner kick delivered by Kim Jin-kyu from the right side, which flowed in front of the goal amidst confusion.

With Jeon Jin-woo's 8th goal in the league, he rose to become the joint top scorer along with Jumin-kyu (Daejeon). The first half ended with Jeonbuk leading 1-0.

In the second half, Gwangju immediately launched a counterattack. Their offense, particularly from foreign players Asani and Hayes, was fierce. In the 1st minute of the second half, Asani broke through on the flank, leading to a powerful finish from Hayes.

Still, Jeonbuk withstood with their characteristic strong defense. Moreover, Song Bum-keun was remarkable. Showing good form since the match against FC Seoul, he saved a threatening free kick from Choi Kyung-reok in the 9th minute of the second half.

Additionally, the defenders exhibited sharp concentration. In the 32nd minute of the second half, Jeonbuk's Hong Jeong-ho successfully stopped Park In-hyeok, who was breaking through, with a strong tackle.

Gwangju continued to knock on Jeonbuk's goal, but Manager Po-quarter's pragmatic football prevailed once more. Jeonbuk secured 3 points with Jeon Jin-woo's goal, which allowed them to intensify their pursuit.
