Hanwha Eagles’ Kim Tae-yeon (28) was removed due to being hit by a pitch.

Kim Tae-yeon was a starter in left field batting seventh in the game against the Kiwoom Heroes at the Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome on 11th.

After hitting a ground ball to third base in his first at-bat, Kim Tae-yeon was hit on the left wrist by a 136 km/h slider on the second pitch from right-handed starting pitcher Kim Yoon-ha with two outs in the top of the fourth, while Hanwha was leading 1-0. Experiencing pain, Kim was ultimately replaced by designated runner Lee Won-seok for player safety.

Hanwha explained Kim Tae-yeon's condition, saying, "Kim Tae-yeon was substituted for player safety due to a bruise on his left wrist from the hit by pitch. He is currently icing it."

In the previous game, Hanwha also had an injured player due to being hit by a pitch. Shim Woo-jun started as the ninth shortstop against Kiwoom on 10th, recording 1 hit in 1 at-bat and 1 run while being hit by a pitch. He played well with quick footwork to advance bases and score first, but was hit on the left knee by a 145 km/h fastball from left-handed reliever Son Hyun-ki in his second at-bat with no outs and one on in the fourth inning, and was ultimately substituted with designated runner Lee Do-yoon to finish the game.

Eventually, Shim Woo-jun was excluded from the starting lineup for that day. Hanwha formed the starting lineup with Hwang Young-mook (second base), Estevan Florial (center field), Moon Hyun-bin (designated hitter), Noh Si-hwan (third base), Chae Eun-sung (first base), Lee Jin-young (right field), Kim Tae-yeon (left field), Lee Jae-won (catcher), and Lee Do-yoon (shortstop).

Hanwha manager Kim Kyung-moon noted in a pre-game interview, "I think Shim Woo-jun needs to rest today. Since tomorrow is also a day off, I plan to let him rest today and tomorrow. His hitting has been getting better lately, so it’s a shame he’s out, but I hope he can rest well during this time. He must have been under a lot of stress. I hope he rests and performs well in the next game."

With Kim Tae-yeon being substituted due to injury following Shim Woo-jun, Hanwha has lost key players for two consecutive games. However, they took comfort in the fact that the injuries were not severe.
