Kim Hyo-joo successfully defended her title at the Ladies European Tour (LET) "Aramco Korea Championship" (total prize money of $2 million, approximately 2.8 billion won).

On the last day of the tournament held on the 11th, Kim Hyo-joo won with a final total of 7-under 209 (70-70-69). Her final day's performance included 4 birdies and 1 bogey. The second place was taken by Switzerland's Chiara Tamburlini, who recorded a total score of 5-under.

Korea's national representative Park Seo-jin caught attention by finishing in solo third place with a score of 4-under, while Park Sung-hyun, who garnered interest for her return to domestic competition, ended with a total score of 5-over, placing tied for 40th.

Kim Hyo-joo lifted her third winner's trophy on the LET.

Not only that, Kim Hyo-joo is also showing good results this season on the LPGA Tour, her main stage. In March, she won the Ford Championship, marking her 7th victory on the LPGA, and secured the runner-up position in last month's major event, the Chevron Championship.

The Aramco Korea Championship, featuring world-class players like Kim Hyo-joo and Danielle Kang, took place from the 9th to the 11th at the New Korea Country Club in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province (par 72/6372 yards). Kim, who won the tournament last year by beating England's Charlie Hull by 3 strokes, also gained the honor of being the defending champion.

This tournament is the first event of the newly launched PIF Global Series. The Public Investment Fund (PIF), an investment organization leading the economic transition of Saudi Arabia and the world, officially launched the PIF Global Series by participating as the series title partner in five tournaments affiliated with the Ladies European Tour (LET). In 2025, tournaments are scheduled to be held on three continents with a total prize money of $2 million for each event.

The series introduced a new format consisting of three days of individual play and two days of team play. The team round consists of four professionals and is determined through a draft conducted during the tournament week. The top two scores from each hole are reflected in the team score. Of the total prize money of $2 million, $1.5 million has been allocated for the individual competition, and $500,000 for the team competition.

The teams for the team competition were already decided on the second day of the tournament, the 10th.

The team victory went to Team Sara Kohuskova from the Czech Republic. Team Sara Kohuskova recorded an impressive score of 21-under over two days to secure the team title, featuring Captain Kohuskova alongside Germany's Patricia Isabel Schmidt and the United States' Briana Navarro.

Team Kim Hyo-joo recorded a total of 16-under in the second round, placing tied for 7th, while Team Park Sung-hyun finished at 14-under, placing tied for 11th.

In the Aramco Championship, teams of four will compete in a team competition, with the scores of the top two players among the four teammates on each hole combined to determine the rankings after the first and second rounds.

Kim Hyo-joo expressed her gratitude by saying, "I am pleased to be part of the Aramco Championship with the fans."
