Seoul SK has come back to life. After being pushed to the brink with 0 wins and 3 losses, they secured a precious victory, igniting a spark of hope.

Seoul SK defeated Changwon LG 73-48 in the 4th game of the 2024-2025 KCC Professional Basketball Championship held at Changwon Gymnasium on the afternoon of the 11th.

With this win, SK achieved their first victory after three consecutive losses in the series, surviving on the edge of elimination. In contrast, LG had aimed to conclude the series in their home arena and savor their first championship title since their establishment, but will have to postpone it to the next opportunity.

Of course, it remains true that LG still has a significant advantage. The championship probability for a team that has consecutively won the 1st to 3rd games in the championship series is 100% (4 out of 4). For SK, they must win the 5th game on the 13th at Jamsil Student Gymnasium to keep the contest alive.

SK jumped ahead from the beginning of the game. Ahn Young-jun showcased his individual skills, scoring consecutively and building a momentum for a 9-0 run. In contrast, LG struggled to find a counterattack due to turnovers. SK, with Ahn Young-jun scoring 7 points and Oh Sei-keun adding 5 points, finished the first quarter with a significant lead of 26-10.

The flow did not change much in the second quarter. LG tried to narrow the gap with Karl Tamayo at the center, but they could not control Jamil Warnie. Kim Hyung-bin also made his presence felt with a 3-pointer and rebounds. SK led the first half 42-23.

The score gap hardly narrowed. LG, led by Asem Marey, scored consecutively in the middle of the third quarter, and finally closed the gap to 14 points with a long-range shot from Yoo Gi-sang. It seemed that the momentum was shifting towards LG.

However, SK did not easily relinquish the momentum. Kim Sun-hyung immediately sank a 3-pointer, dousing LG's rally, and Isaiah Hicks added a 3-point play. Additionally, Oh Sei-keun made an important long-range shot from a difficult angle, roaring in celebration. SK finished the third quarter leading by more than 20 points at 56-34.

There was no reversal in the final quarter either. SK's tenacious defense completely shut down LG's offense, and Kim Sun-hyung and Ahn Young-jun's consecutive scores widened the lead. LG, beginning to pull Maray and Yang Joon-seok off the bench, started preparing for the next game.

Until the end, SK's scoring run continued. SK capped off the big win with scores from bench players Jang Mun-ho and Choi Boo-kyung. The next 5th game will be held on the 13th at Jamsil Student Gymnasium.
