Chunghoon Jeong, president of the Korea Swimming Federation, attended the first Executive Committee meeting of the Asian Swimming Federation.
The federation reported that Chunghoon Jeong attended the Asian Swimming Federation Executive Committee meeting held yesterday, Nov. 10, at the Hilton Garden Inn Kuwait Hotel in Kuwait, to discuss future operational plans and other matters. In April of last year, he was appointed as an Associated Bureau Member after being nominated by Sheikh Khalid B. Al Sabah from Kuwait at the Asian Swimming Federation's General Assembly held in Thailand.
Chunghoon Jeong contributed to reviewing and making decisions on various agendas, including a progress report on the preparations for the 2025 11th Asian Championships, which will be held in Ahmedabad, India, and ways to secure operational funds for the Asian Swimming Federation.
Chunghoon Jeong, who was the president of the Gyeonggi Swimming Federation and served as the head of the Korean delegation at the 2019 Gwangju World Aquatics Championships, was elected as the 28th president of the Korea Swimming Federation in January 2021. He has been re-elected last January and is concurrently serving as an Executive Committee member of the Asian Swimming Federation until the next General Assembly in 2028.
Chunghoon Jeong, who will return home on the afternoon of the 11th after completing the international conference schedule, noted, "I will work harder not only for Korea but also for the development of swimming in Asia so that I can be a stronger support for the athletes who are becoming world-class, even outside the competition venue."
