Los Angeles Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto (27) ranked third in the Major League Baseball pitcher power rankings.

Major League Baseball's official media outlet, MLB.com, released the fourth pitcher power rankings of the season on the 9th (Korean time). Yamamoto ranked third. After staying in seventh place in the last rankings, Yamamoto rose four spots due to his performance this season.

Yamamoto has dominated Japan as one of the top aces, recording 70 wins and 29 losses with an earned run average of 1.82 over 172 games (897 innings) in Nippon Professional Baseball. He pursued entry into Major League Baseball through the posting system last season and set a record for the largest contract for a pitcher in history with the Dodgers, signing a 12-year, $325 million deal (approximately 4.567 trillion won). In Major League Baseball, he struggled with injuries, achieving a somewhat disappointing debut season with 7 wins and 2 losses, an earned run average of 3.00 over 18 games (90 innings).

The Dodgers successfully acquired Roki Sasaki, who heated up the winter stove league last year. While everyone's attention was focused on Sasaki at the beginning of the season, he has faced some difficulties adjusting to Major League Baseball, posting a record of 1 win and 1 loss with an earned run average of 3.86 over 7 games (30⅓ innings), whereas Yamamoto has delivered an overwhelming performance with 4 wins and 2 losses, an earned run average of 0.90 over 7 games (40 innings).

MLB.com noted, 'The offseason buzz was all about Roki Sasaki. However, the pitcher the Dodgers signed from Japan last winter is now truly shining in 2025. While Yamamoto achieved respectable results in his debut season, injuries were unfortunate. However, this year, he is clearly showing why the Dodgers invested a massive amount in him. Leading the Major League Baseball in earned run average, Yamamoto has not allowed more than one earned run in any of his first seven games this season. In three of his last four outings, he recorded shutouts,' highlighting Yamamoto's performance.

Ranking first in the power rankings is Tarik Skubal, who recorded fourth place in the last rankings. Skubal has achieved 3 wins and 2 losses with an earned run average of 2.21 over 7 games (40⅔ innings) this season. Following him are second place Hunter Brown (Houston), third place Yoshinobu Yamamoto, fourth place Logan Webb (San Francisco), and fifth place Max Fried (Atlanta).

Paul Skuse (Pittsburgh), who ranked first in the last rankings, slipped to sixth in this ranking. He has posted 3 wins and 4 losses with an earned run average of 2.77 over 8 games (48⅔ innings) this season. Following Skuse are seventh place Garrett Crochet (Boston), eighth place Zack Wheeler (Philadelphia), ninth place Nathan Eovaldi (Texas), and tied for tenth place Jesus Luzardo (Philadelphia) and Mackenzie Gore (Washington).
