The transfer rumors of Lee Kang-in (24, Paris Saint-Germain) to Arsenal are resurfacing.
The British media 'CaughtOffside' reported on the 8th (Korea time) that "Arsenal is interested in acquiring Lee Kang-in. Lee is struggling with a lack of playing time at PSG, and there is a possibility of a transfer this summer."
The media specifically highlighted Lee's strengths. "Arsenal needs to enhance the quality and depth of its attack. Lee can play on both wings and is a player with scoring ability and creativity. His 1-on-1 breakthrough ability can add variety to the team's attack," it explained.
It continued, "Lee has recorded 6 goals and 6 assists this season. He is a resource that can fully unleash his potential at Arsenal."
Recently, reports supporting Lee's transfer possibilities have continued in France. The French media 'PSG Report' quoted 'L'Equipe' stating that "Lee wants more playing time in important matches, but he is not showing discontent as the team is winning. After the season ends, the club and his agent will discuss the future, and PSG is open to selling Lee if conditions are right."
Another French media outlet, 'AllezParis,' also quoted 'L'Equipe' to convey PSG's stance. The media reported, "It seems PSG has made a significant decision regarding Lee ahead of the summer transfer market. He was trusted by coach Luis Enrique at the beginning of the season, but now he is completely a backup. This situation could ultimately lead to a transfer."
It added, "The club is considering selling Lee but does not intend to let him go for a bargain price. The amount has not been mentioned, and both parties will meet to discuss it after the season ends."
The reason the transfer rumors persist is due to changes in Lee's position. Early in the season, Lee was utilized as a false nine, winger, and central midfielder, being frequently used as a starter. However, as time went on, his opportunities gradually decreased, and he has now been pushed down to the bench.
In particular, he has been completely excluded from the UEFA Champions League recently. He missed both legs of the semifinals against Arsenal. He has only participated in league matches where the championship has been confirmed, effectively being classified as a rotation resource.
Lee's transfer possibility is gradually becoming a reality. 'CaughtOffside' noted, "Lee will consistently want to participate in matches. If promised enough playing time, he may be positive about joining Arsenal. He possesses qualities suitable for the Premier League in both physical and technical aspects."
