The Hanwha Eagles achieved a 10-game winning streak for the first time in 26 years.

On the 9th, Hanwha secured a 7-5 comeback victory against the Kiwoom Heroes in the '2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League' match held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, extending their winning streak to 10 games. This marked the first time in 26 years that Hanwha recorded a 10-game winning streak since achieving it from the Hyundai match on September 24, 1999, when Hanwha won the Korean Series, to the Samsung match on October 5.

The Hanwha lineup recorded 13 hits and 2 home runs. Moon Hyun-bin led the team's victory with a solo home run. He had a standout performance with 2 hits, including his 7th home run of the season, 3 RBIs, and 1 run scored. Florial also starred, batting 2 for 4 with a home run and adding 1 RBI and 1 run scored, including his 3rd home run of the season, while Hwang Young-mook and Chae Eun-sung contributed with multi-hit games.

Starter Eom Sang-baek struggled, pitching 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing 5 hits (4 home runs), 1 walk, 1 hit batter, and 4 earned runs. However, the bullpen consisting of Jo Dong-wook (1 inning, scoreless), Kim Jong-soo (1 and 1/3 innings, scoreless), Park Sang-won (1 inning, scoreless), Han Seung-hyuk (1 inning, scoreless), and Kim Seo-hyun (1 inning, 1 earned run) performed well, providing a foundation for the comeback victory. Kim Seo-hyun earned his 12th save of the season.

In the early stages of the game, Kiwoom had the upper hand. Starting in the bottom of the 1st inning, Song Seong-mun hit a leadoff home run on the first pitch, and Lee Joo-hyung followed with a solo home run. Hanwha narrowed the gap in the top of the 3rd inning with a 1-RBI single from Moon Hyun-bin after consecutive hits from Hwang Young-mook and Florial with one out. However, in the bottom of the 4th inning, Kiwoom's Kim Tae-jin and Yasiel Puig hit back-to-back home runs.

In the top of the 5th inning, with 2 outs, Florial hit a solo home run to get one run closer. In the 7th inning, with no outs, pinch hitter Lee Do-yoon and substitute Kim Tae-yeon both hit singles, creating an opportunity with runners on 1st and 3rd base, and Hwang Young-mook drove in a run with an infield single, cutting the deficit to 3-4. Following that, both runners successfully advanced on Florial's fly ball to center field, creating a chance with one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd base. Moon Hyun-bin hit a sacrifice fly, bringing the game back to even.

With the score tied in the tightly contested 9th inning and 2 outs, Hanwha's Moon Hyun-bin hit a solo home run, successfully turning the game around. No Si-hwan reached second base with a hit and a stolen base, and Chae Eun-sung's 1-RBI triple and Lee Sang-hyuk's 1-RBI double followed, extending the score to 7-4. Kiwoom's Lee Joo-hyung hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 9th inning, but they were unable to narrow the gap further.

Hanwha manager Kim Kyung-moon said in a post-game interview, "It was a challenging game, but the players focused well and turned it around to win. The passionate support from the fans was a great help. I am grateful."

Hanwha announced that Cody Ponsee will be the starting pitcher on the 10th. Kiwoom's starting pitcher will be Kim Seon-ki. Hanwha will now challenge the 14-game winning streak recorded during the Binggrae era in 1992.
