The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on the 8th that it will launch a girls' soccer school program called 'Kicki-taka FC,' with the support of its official partner Nike, aimed at female middle and high school students.

'Kicki-taka' is a portmanteau of the soccer term 'tiki-taka' and 'kick,' inspired by the joyful laughter of female students coming together through soccer.

The Kicki-taka FC girls' soccer school will initially be conducted this year at 22 base schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon, targeting students enrolled in middle and high schools.

A total of 44 coaches and about 500 female students will participate in 14 base training schools for middle school and 8 for high school. Participants will compete in a championship qualifier after a total of 10 training sessions and will advance to the finals if they qualify.

Each base school was selected through a business guide and application process in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, and Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, which have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Football Association. The coaches are mainly composed of teachers who have shown interest in soccer coaching and have gained experience.

Kicki-taka FC is fully funded by Nike, actively supporting the expansion of team sports experiences and positive sports experiences for female students. Each base school will receive various training equipment, including training balls, and participating students will be provided with uniforms.

Kim Ji-yoon, Head of Team at the Korea Football Association, said, "It is rare for regular female middle and high school students to have the opportunity to play soccer with their peers from other schools. I hope this will be an opportunity for participating students to truly experience the joy of soccer so they can eventually advance to the women's college soccer club league hosted by the Korea Football Association."
