It ended in an unprecedented monumental match, but they are ruining themselves.

Inter Milan defeated FC Barcelona 4-3 in the second leg of the 2024-2025 season UEFA Champions League semifinals held at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, on the 7th (Korea Standard Time).

The match between the two teams, which ended in a 3-3 draw in the first leg, concluded with Inter's aggregate score of 7-6 victory. Thus, Inter Milan advanced to the Champions League final.

Inter Milan lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez formed the attacking duo, while Federico Dimarco, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Nicolo Barella, and Denzel Dumfries held the midfield. Alessandro Bastoni, Francesco Acerbi, and Jan Aurel Bisseck made up the back three, with Jan Sommer in goal.

Barcelona deployed a 4-2-3-1 formation. Ferran Torres aimed for a goal, while Raphinha, Dani Olmo, and Lamine Yamal stood in the second line of attack. Pedri and Frenkie de Jong filled the midfield, and Gerard Piqué, Iñigo Martínez, Pau Kimpembe, and Eric García formed the back four. Wojciech Szczęsny donned the goalkeeper gloves.

The early stages of the match belonged to Inter Milan. In the 21st minute of the first half, Lautaro Martinez calmly opened the scoring after receiving a pass from Thuram. In the 43rd minute, Hakan Çalhanoğlu converted a penalty kick awarded after a video review (VAR) to extend the lead to 2-0.

Barcelona's counterattack was also formidable. In the 54th minute, Eric García scored a stunning goal, and in the 60th minute, Dani Olmo equalized with a header, turning the tide. In the 88th minute, Raphinha's goal gave Barcelona a 3-2 lead, but in stoppage time, Inter's center-back Acerbi finished Dumfries' cross to create a dramatic 3-3 draw.

The match headed into extra time. In the 8th minute of the first half of extra time, Fratesi received a pass from Thuram and scored the decisive goal. Barcelona launched a full-scale attack with Robert Lewandowski, Fermín López, and Pau Victor but was thwarted by Jan Sommer's saves.

Ultimately, Inter Milan defeated Barcelona in a shootout and advanced to the Champions League final for the first time in 15 years since the 2009-2010 season. The final showdown for the 'Big Ear' will be against the winner of the match between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, Hans Flick, Barcelona's head coach, expressed dissatisfaction with the referee's decisions and the match result. He noted, "It's disappointing. Some calls favored Inter. That's how it goes," and added, "The result doesn't make sense. The referee's decisions worked against us."

Additionally, there were controversies surrounding unsportsmanlike conduct by Barcelona players. The British tabloid 'The Sun' reported, "Iñigo Martínez spat at Inter defender Acerbi," and explained, "Iñigo and Acerbi clashed during Çalhanoğlu's penalty kick. When Iñigo excessively challenged Çalhanoğlu, Acerbi mocked him afterward."

Up to this point, the actions were close to typical WWE behavior. However, Iñigo crossed a line. The Sun stated, "Iñigo was infuriated by Acerbi's provocation. He retaliated by spitting in Acerbi's face," adding, "Acerbi protested furiously to the referee, but no card was issued. VAR was initially consulted to check for a red card, but no yellow was given either."
