Will LG achieve its first championship victory since its establishment in Changwon? Two wins remain.

On the 7th, Changwon LG defeated Seoul SK 76-71 in the second game of the 2024-25 KCC Professional Basketball Championship held at Jamsil Students' Gymnasium. Having won two consecutive away games, LG only needs two more wins to achieve its first championship title.

Cal Tamayo shone with 27 points in the second game, following 24 points in the first game. Marey managed only 12 points but grabbed 14 rebounds. Heo Il-young scored 12 points, including two three-pointers, targeting his former team. Yoo Gi-sang contributed 14 points with four three-pointers and a crucial free throw.

Although SK's Gomez had a surprising performance with 19 points, their main players, Warney (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Kim Sun-hyung (10 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, 0/6 on three-pointers), struggled. SK's three-point shooting was a factor in their defeat, finishing at 21% with 7/34.

Veteran Heo Il-young (40) scored 12 points in just 12 minutes, sinking two three-pointers at crucial moments. He hit his former teammates from SK where he won a championship.

After the game, Heo Il-young said, "Winning on the road is really significant. It feels great to win two and come back. It would be a lie to say there's nothing good about beating my former team. I’ll share more about the story later, after the series is over," while smiling.

Regarding the decisive three-pointer, he noted, "That's my strength. I was always prepared. I need to shoot without hesitation. I felt good from the practice games. I had chances from a distance and showcased it well," he expressed happily.

Heo Il-young, who was once a fixed starter, has now become a leader who takes care of younger players. His playing time has also significantly decreased. He mentioned, "To be honest, it’s frustrating not being able to play. I've talked with the coach. It's gradually getting better. Whether I play for 5 minutes or 10 minutes, it doesn't matter. LG is very eager. Coming together as one is the most important," encouraging younger players.
