Tottenham is reportedly considering world-renowned manager Carlo Ancelotti as their next head coach. With the future of manager Ange Postecoglou becoming uncertain, it is said that Ancelotti, who has a DNA of winning, is included in the list of candidates.

Give Me Sports reported on the 1st (Korean time) that 'Tottenham has targeted Ancelotti for recruitment in anticipation of Postecoglou's potential departure,' noting that 'Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola are also included in the candidate pool, but Tottenham is focusing on bringing in Ancelotti.'

It was further noted that 'Ancelotti, who has numerous winning experiences, is an essential figure for Tottenham, which lacks trophies.'

Postecoglou's potential sacking is being discussed regardless of the European Football Association (UEFA) Europa League (UEL) title. Tottenham, currently recording the worst results in the Premier League, has already lost faith in the manager and is considering appointing a new coach regardless of the results in European competitions.

According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, 'Postecoglou remains at risk of being sacked even if he succeeds in winning the UEL.' He added, 'If he fails to reach the final or enters the final but misses out on winning, the possibility of being dismissed or leaving by mutual agreement is high.'

Currently, several names are being mentioned as candidates for Tottenham's next manager, and the mention of Ancelotti is seen as unexpected in the football world. Ancelotti, a former Italian national forward who played for AS Roma and AC Milan, started his coaching career after serving as the head coach of the Italian national team.

He built a golden era as the head coach of AC Milan from 2001 to 2009 after gaining experience at Parma and Juventus. He later moved to Chelsea in the Premier League, achieving success in England, and continued to collect league and European competition trophies at Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

After leaving Real Madrid, he experienced some ups and downs. He won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, but did not meet expectations, and he also failed to achieve notable results during his time at Napoli. He returned to the Premier League with Everton, but did not exhibit the qualities of a masterful manager and faced another downturn.

However, he made a spectacular comeback when he returned to Real Madrid in 2021. Contributing to the development of young players like Vinícius Júnior and Federico Valverde, he added to his career by winning La Liga twice, the UEFA Champions League twice, the Copa del Rey twice, the UEFA Super Cup twice, and the FIFA Club World Cup once.

This season, however, is different. Real Madrid was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League and has shown disappointing performances in the league. Failing to win the Copa del Rey has led to an overall evaluation of a disappointing season. Concerns about his game management style and high dependence on certain players are also being raised.

Consequently, the possibility of a separation between Ancelotti and Real Madrid is becoming increasingly realistic. With Xabi Alonso mentioned as his successor, Ancelotti was once considered a strong candidate to lead the Brazil national team, but as the likelihood of that has decreased, reports of a return to Europe are circulating again.

It is reported that Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia also wants Ancelotti, but Tottenham is also targeting his recruitment to usher in a new era. While it is clear that Ancelotti is a respected leader across the football world, concerns are being raised about the fact that he is on a downward slope.

Among Tottenham fans, there is also a sense of skepticism. Managers with illustrious careers like Antonio Conte and José Mourinho have ended in failure at Tottenham. Fans have reacted by saying, 'Relying on a trophy specialist once again is risky,' showing a cautious atmosphere regarding the possibility of Ancelotti's appointment.

Ultimately, Tottenham's choice is expected to depend on the club's philosophy and direction moving forward. Attention is being drawn to whether they will opt for a realistic approach for trophies or shift direction to strategically appoint a manager for long-term team rebuilding.
