It's crazy. "The worry is like a mountain" ultimately turned into a fuss.

The star player of the professional baseball team SSG Landers, Choi Jeong, hit a home run in his return match to the first team, in his first at-bat.

Choi Jeong was registered on the first team roster before the game against LG at Jamsil Stadium on the 2nd. He was listed as the third designated hitter in the starting lineup.

SSG's starting lineup includes Choi Ji-hoon (center fielder), Kim Seong-hyun (second baseman), Choi Jeong (designated hitter), Ko Myeong-jun (first baseman), McBroom (right fielder), Park Seong-han (shortstop), Oh Tae-gon (left fielder), Jo Hyeong-woo (catcher), and Kim Su-yoon (third baseman).

In the first inning, Choi Ji-hoon reached base with a hit, but was tagged out while attempting to steal second base. Kim Seong-hyun reached base with an infield hit. Choi Jeong faced Son Joo-young and on a 2-ball, 2-strike count, hit a fastball (145 km/h) over the left-field fence for a two-run home run. It was his first home run of the season and the 496th of his career.

With this home run, Choi Jeong recorded the second all-time total of 4,200 total bases in KBO history. He is the first right-handed hitter to achieve this.

Choi Jeong felt some discomfort in his right hamstring during defensive training ahead of a Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) exhibition game against the Kia Tigers scheduled for March 17 at Gwangju KIA Champions Field. He underwent medical examinations twice on March 18 and 19, and was diagnosed with a partial right hamstring injury (Grade 1). Rehabilitation took over a month.

Before the game, Choi Jeong noted in an interview with reporters, "I thought I would return a bit earlier, but the recovery hadn’t gone as fast as expected, so I was quite frustrated at that time. After about a week, the frustration subsided. Since rehabilitation was prolonged, I was worried about whether I could perform well upon returning."

He added, "The biggest concern is whether I can play like a baseball player in the game. I worry that I might not be able to hit the ball and that my timing would be off, swinging only after the ball comes in. That's what I am worried about."

On that day, regarding LG's starting pitcher Son Joo-young, Choi Jeong said, "I haven't faced Son Joo-young before. Still, he is a hot pitcher this year, and I heard his RPM is good." He added, "This is not a fuss. I am genuinely worried, and if I do well this way, it would be really fortunate."

However, in his first at-bat, he hit Son Joo-young's high fastball for a magnificent home run. The result turned the worries into a fuss.
