Cohen Winn took the mound as a starting pitcher in the game against the Lotte Giants in the 2025 Futures League at Icheon LG Champions Park on the 30th, logging 1 hit, 1 home run, 1 strikeout, and 1 earned run over 2 innings.

Cohen Winn recorded 1 hit, 1 home run, 1 strikeout, and 1 earned run over 2 innings in the game against the Lotte Giants in the 2025 Futures League at Icheon LG Champions Park on the 30th. Out of 30 pitches, there were 20 strikes and 10 balls. His fastest fastball reached 145 km/h, and his average was 143 km/h. He threw 20 fastballs, 6 curves, 3 forks, and 1 slider. After a day off, he made his appearance in the Futures League.

Cohen Winn entered the country on the 24th, prepared visa-related documents, and immediately left for Japan on the 25th. He received his visa on the 28th, re-entered, and trained with the second-team players at Icheon LG Champions Park on the 29th.

He recorded a quick 3 outs in the first inning with 3 ground balls. He retired the first batter, Taxes Jo, with a 142 km/h fastball for a ground ball out at third base. At the second batter, he had Ji-hoon Park pinch-hitting. He got a ground ball out at shortstop with a 143 km/h fastball. Then, he threw a first and second pitch changeup to Taekyung Lee to get 2 strikes. The 145 km/h high fastball turned into a ball. He ended the inning with a ground ball to second base on the 8th pitch at full count, with a 143 km/h fastball.

In the second inning, he retired leadoff batter Lee In-han with a pop-out to second base on the third pitch. He then allowed a solo home run to Dong-hyun Kim with a 144 km/h fastball that just cleared the left field wall.

After allowing a run, he got Dong-kyu Kim to ground out to third base for 2 outs with a 136 km/h changeup. Next, he got two strikes on Duksan Baek with 2 fastballs and struck him out swinging on a changeup that fell at 128 km/h on the fourth pitch.

After the game, when Cohen Winn was asked what game plan he had, he noted, "I watched the game between Lotte and the Futures League yesterday, and the batters were swinging aggressively. I thought that if I couldn’t throw the ball where I wanted after 2 strikes, I would give up a big hit. I aimed to attack the strike zone."

There were many ground balls. Out of the 6 outs, 4 were ground ball outs. Cohen Winn explained, "My fastball sinks like a sinker toward the body of right-handed batters. That’s why I can create weak contact and weak batted balls."

Manager Kyung-yup Yeom mentioned that Cohen Winn was expected to throw about 50 pitches that day, but he was replaced after throwing only 30 pitches in 2 innings. Cohen Winn explained, "I learned how to use PitchCom and adapted while trying out ABS. Today's start had a strong test nature for my pitches. I focused on increasing the pitching intensity, and my fastball’s corner work was good. The splitter was also good, and I was encouraged by getting 1 strikeout with a curve. After throwing 30 pitches, I feel adequately prepared. If I pitch this weekend, I hope it leads to good results."

When asked to mention his strengths, Cohen Winn stated, "It's targeting the strike zone. It’s about making batters feel uncomfortable, leading them to think ‘this is tough’ so I can induce weak contact." He added, "And it’s about trusting my defense. It’s about creating weak batted balls for the defense to handle. As you can see from my Aussie league record, I’m not the type who gets strikeouts with sheer pitching ability. It’s about attacking the strike zone and playing baseball together with the defense."

He also added, "The pitching coach from Oxspring stated that strikeouts don’t come just by trying to get them. If I throw good pitches, strikeouts will come naturally. If I greedily seek strikeouts, the desired pitches won’t go where I want them."

He has signed a 6-week contract with LG. When asked if he had any goals while playing for LG, Cohen Winn said, "(Due to the short period) realistically, it’s difficult to have personal goals, and I don’t. Since baseball is a team sport, I want to help the team win. Baseball requires all teammates to do well to achieve victory."

He mentioned, "When I was in college, the coach said that to become a good team, we must depend on each other and unite. It’s not just about one person being good; we need to come together. Every time I take the mound, it should help the team win. I don't think about strikeouts or earned run averages," emphasizing a team-first approach.
