Tyler Glasnow was placed on the injured list due to right shoulder pain, raising alarm for the Los Angeles Dodgers' rotation management. There are suggestions that the Dodgers should acquire Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Andrew Heaney to gain an advantage in the National League West standings.

U.S. media outlet Newsweek reported on the 30th (Korean time), "The Dodgers are under immense pressure due to issues with their rotation. With Tyler Glasnow going on the injured list, he has become the 13th injured pitcher for the Dodgers this season."

The outlet continued, "As competition in the National League West has intensified, manager Dave Roberts and the Dodgers no longer have the luxury of wasting time," adding, "The Dodgers must make a decision soon, and Andrew Heaney of the Pirates should be included in the list of potential acquisitions."

Heaney has shown stability this season, recording a 1.72 earned run average over five games. In particular, he has pitched six or more innings in four consecutive games and recorded two or fewer walks each time he took the mound.

The outlet claimed, "Realistically, Pittsburgh is not a team that can compete for a championship. Therefore, there is a very high possibility they will utilize Heaney as a trade card before July. The Dodgers need to acquire Heaney to reinforce their rotation."

"Heaney, familiar to Dodgers fans, pitched in 16 games for the Dodgers in 2022, finishing with a 4-4 record and a 3.10 earned run average," it said. "If the Dodgers acquire Heaney, who has currently signed a one-year contract worth $5.25 million with the Pirates, they will only need to cover his remaining salary. Considering the scale of the Dodgers organization, this amounts to a minimal burden."

It seems that acquiring Heaney would not involve significant costs. The outlet projected, "The Dodgers would likely be able to negotiate a trade by offering bullpen prospect Edgar Enriquez."

From Pittsburgh's perspective, there is also the advantage of securing long-term bullpen resources. However, the analysis noted that if Heaney continues to perform well, Pittsburgh's demands could increase. Newsweek emphasized, "Thus, the Dodgers need to move as quickly as possible."
