A 'huge jackpot incident' is about to occur. Manchester United (hereinafter referred to as Man U) is attempting to recruit Kim Min-jae (29, Bayern Munich).

Christian Falk, a reporter from Germany’s Bild, reported, "Man U is trying to recruit center-back Kim Min-jae from Bayern Munich this summer. They failed once to acquire Kim Min-jae but are showing renewed interest."

In 2023, Kim Min-jae led Napoli to its first Serie A title in 33 years, rising to 'world-class' status, and his market value soared. Man U has entered the recruitment race. Man U is regarded as the front-runner for signing Kim Min-jae.

However, Bayern Munich attempted to swoop in and succeeded. Kim Min-jae, on the verge of joining Man U, shifted his direction toward another big club, Bayern. After falling to 14th place in the Premier League this season, Man U urgently needs to bolster its defense. They are reaching out to Kim Min-jae once again.

Bild reported, "Kim Min-jae, nicknamed 'monster,' is a defender who won the title with Serie A's Napoli. He plays alongside Son Heung-min on the national team. There is a high possibility that Kim Min-jae will leave Bayern after this season."

Another UK media outlet, TeamTalk, noted, "There are rumors that Man U has entered the race to recruit Kim Min-jae. Man U attempted to sign Kim Min-jae two years ago during the summer but failed. Man U may attempt to sign him again."

Ruben Amorim, the manager of Man U, said that no reinforcement is needed for the center-back position, but that is not true. Man U is still relying on Harry Maguire as the starter. Man U also has Matthijs de Ligt, who competed with Kim Min-jae at Bayern.

Despite Bayern's Bundesliga victory, public opinion is strongly criticizing Kim Min-jae. In an interview with TZ, Kim Min-jae appealed, "The Achilles tendon issue still remains. But I am gritting my teeth and enduring."

Kim Min-jae continued, "(The mistakes) might be excuses. I need to resolve this issue. Of course, the mistakes occurred due to pain. But in the end, I should have done better," blaming himself.

There are widespread rumors that Kim Min-jae will transfer to another team this summer. Names like Premier League's Newcastle and Chelsea are already being mentioned. It wouldn’t be surprising if Kim Min-jae, who dominated Italy and Germany, were to transfer to another big league.

If Kim Min-jae joins Man U, he will become the second Korean player after Park Ji-sung.
