The professional baseball team KT Wiz lost two infielders to injuries on a day off on Monday.

KT Wiz excluded infielders Huh Kyung-min, Oh Yun-seok, and outfielders Yoo Jun-kyu and Choi Sung-min from the first-team roster on the afternoon of the 28th.

According to a KT official, starting third baseman Huh Kyung-min was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain following a hospital examination. The decision to remove him from the roster was made based on the recommendation for about two weeks of rest.

Huh Kyung-min, who became a KT man through a 4 billion won free agent contract, had been performing in his first year with a batting average of .310, with 1 home run, 8 RBIs, 9 runs scored, and an OPS of .721 over 26 games. He had been solidifying the middle order and hot corner while playing third base during the three-game series against Hanwha Eagles last weekend, but the injury will sideline him for at least ten days.

Along with Huh Kyung-min, infielder Oh Yun-seok also received a diagnosis of a left adductor strain. Fortunately, his injury is not as severe as Huh Kyung-min's, and he is expected to recover after about a week of rest. Oh Yun-seok's season record is a batting average of .196 with 5 RBIs over 23 games.

KT is in a situation where many key players are sidelined with injuries, including ace Emmanuel De Jesus (thigh), star hitter Kang Baek-ho (side), and infielder Kim Sang-soo (side). Nevertheless, they have managed to maintain a .500 winning percentage through resilient play, but with the injuries to Huh Kyung-min and Oh Yun-seok, the infield is in serious trouble. It appears that activating Plan B will be unavoidable starting with the game against Doosan Bears on the 29th.

Meanwhile, Samsung Lions have excluded outfielder Kim Jae-hyuk and infielder Lee Chang-yong, while Lotte Giants have excluded pitcher Park Jin-hyung, and NC Dinos have excluded pitcher Lim Sang-hyun from the first-team roster.

The KBO League will kick off the week on the 29th with games featuring Daejeon Lions Weis (Hanwha) against Song Seung-ki (LG), Incheon Michi White (SSG) against Choi Won-tae (Samsung), Gwangju Kim Do-hyun (KIA) against Logan Allen (NC), Gocheok Kim Yoon-ha (Kiwoom) against Charlie Barnes (Lotte), and Jamsil Choi Jun-ho (Doosan) against William Cuevas (KT).
