The 2025 season artistic swimming national team departed for Canada for its first international competition of the year.

The Korea Swimming Federation noted on the morning of the 28th that the 2025 season artistic swimming national team has departed for Canada to participate in the 2025 International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics, hereafter AQUA) Artistic Swimming World Cup third stage.

Under the direction of Kim Hyo-mi, who has been coaching since 2017, and Petra Arkovich, who was appointed in March, the national team has revamped its program for the 2025 season with the theme "White Tiger." Huh Yoon-seo (Sungkyunkwan University) and Kim Ji-hye (Kyunghee University) will participate in the duet technical event.

This is the first time the national team is competing on an international stage as a combination, not selecting from existing soundtracks, but rather using new compositions specifically created for this program. The performance will feature the traditional Korean instrument geomungo alongside various sounds of tigers, embodying the White Tiger, known as a powerful and mysterious guardian of Korea, with its inherent elegance and courage.

Kim Hyo-mi, the coach in charge of the duet technical choreography, said, "I am excited to showcase the newly assembled athletes for the first time after the Paris Olympics" and expressed her hope that "this program will promote Korean culture and contribute to the growing recognition of artistic swimming in the country through the competition results."

Huh Yoon-seo, who will also compete in solo technical and free events, remarked, "Of course, my coach Kim Hyo-mi, who has trained me previously, as well as the new foreign coach, new partner, and new program have all come together for this preparation with great effort." She added, "I hope the feeling we have with Kim Ji-hye, whom I paired with for the first time this year, will be highlighted as our unique strength, and as we prepare for the World Swimming Championships, we will show everything we can now."
