The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) has changed the schedule and location for the three-game series between Kia and NC, originally scheduled to take place in Changwon from the 29th to the 1st of next month, and the three-game series between NC and Kia scheduled for August 8-10 in Gwangju.
Due to the time required for the implementation of additional safety measures following the safety inspection results of Changwon NC Park, the KIA-NC game that was set to be held at Changwon NC Park from the 29th to the 31st will now be held at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. Furthermore, the three-game series scheduled to be held at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field from August 8 for three days will move to Changwon NC Park.
Meanwhile, professional baseball team NC Dinos, Changwon City, and the Changwon Facilities Management Corporation held the 4th general meeting of the 'joint task force' regarding the Changwon NC Park structural collapse accident on the 25th at the Changwon Facilities Management Corporation.
The meeting was attended by the CEO of NC Dinos, the director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Changwon City, and the acting chairman of the Changwon Facilities Corporation, among others.
During the meeting, measures for the overall safety of Changwon NC Park and the prompt normalization of the stadium were discussed, focusing on the supplementary items from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's detailed safety inspection received by the Changwon Facilities Corporation on the 25th.
In particular, it was decided to remove all 227 louvers from the outer wall of Changwon NC Park along with the overall safety measures of the stadium.
The decision to remove the louvers was made by consensus among representatives of the three agencies, reflecting the opinions of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Land Safety Management Authority. The removal work will be carried out from the 26th to the 29th, and the schedule may be flexibly adjusted depending on the pace of the work.
The joint task force plans to decide on the reopening of Changwon NC Park after addressing the urgent safety inspection supplementary items requested by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and after reporting to the ministry.
