The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jeong Gi-hwan) Jangsu Farm will promote a breeding support project for domestic riding horse production farms until July 31 this year.
This project has been implemented since 2013 to improve the quality of domestic riding horses and reduce the expense burden on production farms.
Unlike thoroughbred racehorses, which are generally bred through natural mating of the breed, riding horses have significantly fewer restrictions on breeds and mating methods, allowing for artificial insemination. In this regard, the Korea Racing Authority supports private farms in producing riding horses using refrigerated and frozen semen.
The scale of support for this project is a total of 80 heads. Refrigerated or frozen semen and shipping costs are provided free of charge, and cooperative subsidies are granted upon submission of an artificial insemination certificate.
The supported riding stallions include a total of six horses, featuring 'Jintonic,' the current world champion in dressage, and 'Kyldamus,' which achieved the number one ranking in the 2013 Hannover Association evaluation in Germany, showcasing excellent bloodlines and abilities.
Farms that own registered riding mares with the Korea Racing Authority as of the application date can apply, and those wishing to apply should register through the Korea Racing Authority's horse industry information portal, Horsepia. Further details can be found in the announcements on the Horsepia website.
