Marcus Rashford (Aston Villa) has been selected as a replacement for Son Heung-min (Tottenham).
According to Football Transfer, "If Aston Villa decides not to permanently acquire Rashford, Tottenham is considering him as a candidate for acquisition."
Rashford was once regarded as a key resource responsible for the future of Manchester United, but he has lost ground due to consistent underperformance in recent seasons. After being loaned to Aston Villa through the winter transfer market this season, he is trying to regain his form.
According to Football Transfer, Tottenham is seeking alternative resources considering Son Heung-min's future, and it is reported that Rashford is included in the list of candidates.
Football Transfer explained, "There is a high possibility that Rashford will leave Manchester United this summer. Tottenham is closely monitoring his transfer situation."
It was added that "Rashford has made a positive impression since joining Aston Villa in January, and Aston Villa holds an option to permanently acquire him for £40 million (76.4 billion won). However, if Aston Villa does not exercise this clause, there is a possibility that Tottenham will actively pursue him."
Additionally, "Tottenham showed interest in Rashford during last winter's transfer market, but at that time, head coach Ange Postecoglou was looking to loan Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich," it was reported, adding, "The situation has changed, and there may be internal discussions regarding Rashford."
Meanwhile, Son Heung-min has established himself as a representative striker in the Premier League since joining Tottenham in the 2015-2016 season. However, in recent seasons, with physical deterioration and inconsistent performance overlapping, concerns about an 'aging curve' have been raised.
The Hard Tackle analyzed, "Son Heung-min has gone through a difficult time this season as he does not fit the team's tactics. He has not harmonized with the style of head coach Postecoglou, and as his contract expiration approaches in 2026, Tottenham is in a mood to re-evaluate his future."
Give Me Sports pointed out that Tottenham's situation is generally unstable.
The Hard Tackle noted, "Tottenham has spent time under Chairman Daniel Levy's regime without clear results," adding that "to seek change, a restructuring of the core players may be inevitable."
It was reported that "Tottenham is reviewing Son Heung-min's situation very carefully. He has been a symbolic figure for the team for a long time, but the club is not ruling out the possibility of a transfer. Considering the financial and tactical situations, there is also a possibility of parting ways with Son Heung-min."
