Could a new national club be born in the Premier League?
The British outlet 'Give Me Sport' reported, "Lee Kang-in of PSG has not been able to play much as a starter this season. Manchester United is interested in acquiring Lee Kang-in and has placed the Korean midfielder on its list of potential signings. PSG is considering a transfer fee of £40 million (about 757 billion won) for Lee Kang-in."
Another surprising fact is that Newcastle is also among the clubs interested in Lee Kang-in. The outlet explained, "In addition to Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are simultaneously involved in the consolidation with Lee Kang-in."
Newcastle intends to bolster both its attack and defense by signing Kim Min-jae as well. 'OneFootball' stated, "Kim Min-jae is considering a transfer to a new league, including the Premier League. Chelsea and Newcastle have expressed interest by contacting Kim Min-jae's agent," supporting the rumors of his transfer.
In the past, many Korean players like Park Ji-sung and Lee Young-pyo have played in the Premier League. However, two key national team players have never played on the same team simultaneously. If Kim Min-jae and Lee Kang-in both move, Newcastle will become a national club that surpasses Tottenham. The two players representing Korea would become the core of the attack and defense.
It's a delightful thought, even just imagining it. Of course, there are obstacles to make it a reality.
'Cut Off Side' noted, "The possibility of Kim Min-jae's transfer this summer remains open. The likelihood of a transfer to the Premier League is high. Chelsea wants to strengthen its defense, and Kim Min-jae is a valuable asset. Besides Chelsea and Newcastle, an unnamed Serie A team is also interested in Kim Min-jae," mentioning the possibilities.
It is still uncertain where Kim Min-jae would go if he leaves Bayern Munich. Newcastle is just one of several candidates. Lee Kang-in also has the possibility of remaining at PSG.
After his comeback match, Lee Kang-in expressed, "I am happy to return from injury. I am really glad to be back with the team and play together again. I was unable to play after being excluded from the starting list due to injury. It's been a while since I started. I am glad to have won and to be moving forward. I will do my best to prepare for every game."
