LG Twins pitcher Shim Chang-min recorded three consecutive scoreless games in the Futures League.

On the 24th, Shim Chang-min took the mound as the second pitcher after starter Kim Woong in the bottom of the fourth inning of the game against Sangmu in the 2025 Futures League, while trailing 0-1. He faced the heart of Sangmu's lineup and finished the inning with one hit and no runs allowed.

Against the first batter Han Dong-hee, Shim struck him out with a pop-up to center field after getting to 1 ball and 2 strikes, and Park Chan-hyuk was retired with a strikeout on three pitches. After getting two outs, he allowed a single to Jeon Uisahn but ended the inning without allowing a run by striking out O Tae-yang.

LG scored 2 runs in the top of the fifth inning, turning the game around to 2-1, and then the batting lineup exploded to win 20-2, earning him a relief victory.

As of the 24th, Shim Chang-min has appeared in three Futures League games, recording 1 win, 1 hold, and an earned run average of 0. He recorded no runs in 1 inning with 2 strikeouts against the Goyang Heroes on March 25, and allowed no runs in ⅔ inning with one hit against the Doosan Bears on the 18th. He pitched 1 inning with 1 hit and no runs on that day.

He pitched 2⅔ innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 4. Most importantly, there were no walks. During his time with NC, he struggled with chronic control issues, leading to many walks, which ultimately caused his release due to control problems.

Shim Chang-min was selected by Samsung with the 4th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 rookie draft. Known for his fastball of 150 km/h, Shim made his debut in the first team in 2012 and played as a key pitcher. He contributed to Samsung's combined championship from 2012 to 2014. He took on the closer role in 2016, recording 25 saves, and in 2017, he had 6 saves and 16 holds, followed by 17 saves and 5 holds in 2018, establishing himself as a mainstay in the bullpen.

However, in December 2021, Shim Chang-min was traded from Samsung to NC. He fell into serious struggles at NC. In his first year after the trade, he appeared in 11 games with 1 win, 2 losses, and an earned run average of 14.21 (6⅓ innings, 10 earned runs). In 2023, he only appeared in 5 games (3⅓ innings) in the first team. Control issues were severe, allowing a staggering 62 walks in 32 games and 30⅓ innings in the second team.

In 2024, he did not pitch even 1 game in the first team and struggled with an earned run average of 8.84 in the second team, ultimately getting released. Afterward, LG extended a contract offer. If his control stabilizes, he may have a chance to revive as a bullpen pitcher. Until last year, he recorded a total of 485 professional games (491 innings) with 31 wins, 29 losses, 51 saves, 80 holds, and an earned run average of 4.22.
