The professional baseball LG Twins are creating a dominant ‘absolute first place’ position early in the season. Starting with a seven-game winning streak, LG has a record of 18 wins and 6 losses (winning percentage .750). They are 4.5 games ahead of the second-place group.

LG is continuing to achieve remarkable records in attendance as well as their overwhelming performance. They have recorded sellouts in 12 of their 14 home games. They also achieved eight consecutive sellouts starting from the opening game, setting a new record for consecutive sellouts in KBO history. The Jamsil Stadium, which can hold 23,750 spectators, sees a ticket war during LG home games.

LG recorded sellouts during the opening series against the Lotte Giants on March 22-23. The three-game series against Hanwha Eagles from March 25-27 also saw sellouts every day. Despite being weekday games on Wednesday, Thursday, and Tuesday, the stadium was filled with 23,750 fans each day.

After returning from an away game, LG naturally recorded sellouts in weekend games against KIA on April 4 and 6. As KIA competes for top recognition in popularity nationwide, securing tickets for KIA's weekend games at Jamsil becomes a battle.

LG faced the Doosan Bears in a home three-game series during the ‘Jamsil Rivalry’ from the 11th to the 13th. Most weekend rivalry matches at Jamsil are sold out. However, on the 12th (Saturday), due to a forecast of rain, 1,300 tickets were canceled the night before, resulting in a failure to sell out. A total of 22,938 spectators attended, falling short of sellout by 812.

LG continued the trend of sellouts in all three games against the Samsung Lions from the 15th to the 17th. Despite being weekdays, there were many Samsung fans among the visiting team.

On the 22nd, the number of spectators for the home game against the NC Dinos significantly dropped. Rain fell from morning until 5 p.m. that day, only stopping just in time for the match to proceed normally. Conditions for attracting spectators were the worst. A total of 12,941 fans attended, the lowest attendance for LG this season, causing the average attendance to sharply decline.

A total of 320,879 spectators attended LG's 14 games. The average attendance dropped from 23,688 to 22,920. Nevertheless, LG ranks first overall and in average attendance among all 10 clubs. LG has achieved a seating occupancy rate of 96.5%. (Prior to the game against NC, the occupancy rate was 99.7%.) Compared to the same period last year, the number of spectators has increased by 38% over 14 games.

LG's average attendance of 22,920 is higher than that of 10 Major League teams. As of the 22nd, LG surpasses the average attendance of 10 teams including the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox, Miami Marlins, Oakland Athletics, and Tampa Bay Rays.

The Baltimore Orioles recorded an attendance of 263,669 over 11 games, averaging 23,969, ranking 20th in Major League attendance. For reference, the top team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, had an attendance of 625,444 over 12 games, averaging 52,120.

LG set a new record for the most spectators in a single KBO season last year, recording 1,397,499 (over 73 games), exceeding the previous record of 1,380,018 set by the Lotte Giants in 2009.

Last year, LG recorded more spectators than four Major League teams: the Chicago White Sox (1,380,733, 77 games), the Tampa Bay Rays (1,337,739, 81 games), the Miami Marlins (1,087,453, 81 games), and the Oakland Athletics (922,286, 80 games).

Meanwhile, as of the 22nd, the KBO League recorded a cumulative attendance of 2,005,371 over a record-low 118 games, achieving 2 million fans. The previous record for the fewest games to reach 2 million was achieved in 2012 after 126 games. As of the 22nd, the average attendance is 16,995, reflecting an increase of about 19% compared to the same number of games last year.
